I've had an amazing idea. It's called fink ****ter. We all know the inconvenience of carrying a whole lol roll when we might only need a few sheets for a weekend. Plus the aggro of actually tearing off each sheet as you use it.
So for £11.99 I am will to post you twenty sheets of the finest Andrex already sorted into single sheets.
Ignoring the exaggerated sales price this product literally exists... in several guises. Handy packs of tissues, done by Andrex. As a couple of others have said (although not many) I really don't understand this thread. Assuming, though, that all the critics wouldn't ever buy:
- ready tied leaders
- company-made leads
- ready made boilies
- day tickets
It's an interesting thread but those commenting “3 weetabix for a quid!!!” can save it. It's been established there's bigger mark ups in fishing tackle. I dare say a single pack of pre tied leaders is costing you more.

I get you mate. While I'd not use this Fink jobby I do buy sharpened hooks simply because I can't be bothered to do them myself anymore. Same deal I guess.

Paying for convenience. It's a slightly over-the-top example but it rings true - there is superb free angling out there for the thrifty carp angler, of which there seems to be many in this thread.
Personally I fish day tickets... because I can't be bothered with the hassle of finding these lakes. Do you get my point?
Anyway I've probably said enough. I think this is a good idea, one I won't be trying, but that caters for a specific market of which (given the negativity) this thread clearly doesn't represent. I still say good luck to them.

But I'm not debating mark-ups, I'm debating Fink Food taking someone elses product, re-packaging it and selling it for 200 to 400% more under the banner of "convenience"...... would you pay me £30 for a kilo of Boilies if I provided them with the convenience of being ready-glugged so you didn't have to do it yourself?
Yonny's comment about sharpened hooks is a good one but that is taking a hook, putting in graft to make it better and selling on a superior product.
Yes ready-tied rigs and leaders are similar in terms of convenience but there are Anglers who genuinely prefer these, they either struggle to tie them or simply cannot. My mate is as blind as a bat and can't see a thing close up therefore has to use ready tied rigs....he can still get a weetabix out of the cupboard though...
Granted, there will be some who don't mind paying the extra and that's up to them..they will be the same ones who pay the Bait Room £40 for a pot of pop-ups no doubt....

But convience is a product of sorts, and theres a massive market out there for it. People wont just order a couple of weetabix, I can see this for anglers who might want to do 3 nights for example, and order maybe 2 portions of cooked breakfasts one cereal, 3 dinners etc etc, all you are doing is paying them to take the hassle out of it. It definitely wont appeal to a lot, but it will appeal to some, if I was on slightly better wages I probably would use hello fresh more often, one thing I hate doing is chucking wasted food out, which I inevitably do each week, with something like that you dont have any food waste, and they are quite healthy

I'd also just add that, yes, the 3 Weetabix is probably the most controversial offering. However, the business isn't the 3 Weetabix Company - they have a lot of very convenient and portioned fresh meals. It's easy to focus on the extreme, but a lot of the dinner meals make far more sense financially and from a point of convenience.

You can't really compare as each water is different, therefore meaning that it's perfectly reasonable to charge a different rate for each water, whereas a bowl of Kellogg's cornflakes is the same product wether you buy it from Tesco of from fink food. It's just one charges considerably more for the same product.

My comparison wasn't between day tickets and their varying costs, it was between day tickets and free-to-fish waters. We all know there's amazing fishing to be had for free across the U.K. (look at Alfie Russell). My point being a lot of us can't be arsed to find, travel to, or fish these waters, so we pay for the convenience.
