If enough people are being tucked up by this bait thief, get Pascal to install multiple discreet CCTV's in the bait freezer room, to keep tabs on who & when people are going in the freezer, to catch the culprit red handed, and ban them.
Just an idea.

So you come face to face with the bloke who nicked your bait and you do nothing lol, you obviously didn't grow up in the same kind of neighbourhood as me
On reflection maybe you're right, it's probably much better to name and shame him as a bait thief.
I feel like I have said all that I can on this bait stealing business, damned if I do, and damned if I don't
I'll just sit back, say nothing and wait for the fireworks once pascal gets wind of it

I'm really not going to mention the type of estates I grew up on.
And tbh, I have made some mistakes in my past that in a way I'm still paying for now.
I guess I was just trying to say that you can be the bigger and better man by not being violent and deal with this prat in a different way.

Misses doesn't shop in Tesco's, aside from that the driving leaves me wiped out travelling the Calais route i'd rather pay the extra to avoid driving through the night or taking an extra day at either end of the trip to recover.

So when are you fishing at Rainbow next mate? Who do you fish with?
So when are you fishing at Rainbow next mate? Who do you fish with?
I've fished it around 30 times with several friends since 2008, I had a trip next year in 17 & 18 but given my side of the trip up for another friend to go.
TBH it doesn't appeal to me as much anymore a lot has changed in recent years and I have been going less and less, Rainbow has been very popular from way before I started going but it's surprising how much it has changed in my time, Ive had some great trips and some good memories of the place but I could take it or leave it now.

For me the style of fishing being employed is a big one and the kit being used there these days, I think I mentioned it earlier in the thread some of the things I have pulled out or up with my pole and grapple the fish stand no chance, untold amounts of kit getting lost on a weekly basis by the fish at all cost anglers add to that some of the methods employed it is all getting ludicrous, by it's very nature Rainbow is a snaggy lake your going to lose a few but some of the guys are gearing up for towing in Sharks not carp it's all got pretty stupid TBF, I'll fish upto snags by that at least a few metres away, some of the anglers now are getting in and out of boats to get through snags and out the other end madness, when you have been enough and you see some of the antics the newer anglers get upto because they believe thats standard angling for Rainbow it curls your toes, I remember a few years ago one of the better named anglers and I won't name names took someone on his first trip pretty much left him to it after telling him where he should be fishing I had enough on the first day watching from the next swim along when he had had 7 takes in one spot and pulled for a break on everyone I had to go and put him right.

Watching KE videos i do often wonder why most of the fallen tree's / snags are not removed etc making the fishing a lot safer........Any idea's why Pascal doesnt get this done......

Pascals favorite phrase is au naturel, by all accounts he doesn't do anything to the swims for that reason either.
Like all avenues in fishing there is always going to be the idiots that have this fish at all costs mentality. Rainbow is extreme fishing and to my mind it's so easy to forget all about fish safety and go overboard to catch. I think that people get so side tracked with what's gone into preparing for the trip, how much it has all cost, etc, etc they just can't bare the thought of not catching many or even blanking.
I did hear a few whispers that Pascal and his two sons Max and Paul are banning anyone for this sort of fishing, no matter who they are should they hear about it, but like anything, if nobody says anything it will carry on.
I did quite a lot of research about tackle and stuff before my trip, and to be honest I was a bit shocked at the lengths that some people will go to just to put a fish on the bank. But as always with my fishing common sense prevailed and I used tackle that I thought was a better balance for the job.
I wouldn't stop fishing there because of what some anglers do, just so long as my conscience is clear, and if I get the chance to put somebody right great I would, but if they choose not to take any notice, well

Just to add to my last post,
I think that the cost, logistics and whatever of removing all those snags, trees, etc would be mind blowing when all that needs to be done is to educate the anglers, maybe make up a set of rules about what is acceptable etc.
If it falls on deaf ears then ban em and let somebody who will fish it properly have a go.
I'm sure that there might be one or two people out there that would like a trip to Rainbow

I think the problem with rainbow is the fish are not difficult to catch as long as you are in the right swim at the right time of year. When your not it can be a real ball ache and people who are going there with the idea that they are going to have it off when in reality you haven't got a chance in hell.
This i think is when the real extreme stuff starts happening because people see the catch reports and think they should be hauling when the fish have been hammered the week before and retreated back into the snags.
My first trip I was in swim 1 and I could see and hear fish moving in the finger bays around the back of the bird hide, I went down there in the boat to have a look and the snags were savage but what I also noticed were hooks screwed into the trees where people had obviously been fishing down there.
There were some big catches going on round the lake and went to swims 18 and 19 where my mates were fishing and they actually caught fish whilst I was there by baiting short of the snags and everything locked down tight, these boys do 3-4 trips a year and have been going for 16 odd years and really know the lake well.as I said they were in the right swims for the time of year and will have the going swims booked for the next couple of years, this is why you see the same old faces making the big catches.
I turned away two trips this year because I knew I would struggle as the swims have no form at the time of year and I'm not prepared to subsidise other peoples angling.
