It has about 4 times the insulation and industrial hinges and handles which is where the weight comes fromIt will keep things a lot cooller and for a lot longer and much better made than a coleman though.

What is a lot longer tho? My coleman will keep my bottles frozen more than 3 days how I use it, my doctored tesco jobbie will actually do about the same at about a third of the price of the coleman, and fits 1.5l bottles

Easily twice as long. I couldnt be bothered with doctoring stuff to make it better. The price of the icy techs isnt an issue so would rather just buy the best cool box you can buy and it will last forever. Ive had a couple of colemans over the years and they have all broke in one way or another so it dosent really work out any cheaper in the long run. Im going to order a 25 litre icy tech as well as my 40 litre is a bit big for overnighters.

If the size was more appropriate I might have bought one

One thing I would say about the 25L Iceytek vs the 45L is that you need to make sure its packed full of really cold/frozen stuff to get the most from it. I have found that it doesn't keep stuff as cool as the bigger one as passive cooling needs as much cold stuff as possible to sustain a low temperature.

Might just stick with the bigger 40 litre then. Probably a bit pointless spending another £140 when the 40 is not to much bigger than the 25. I can get two gel packs in the 40 so will perform better.

Agree on size mate, there bloody big and very heavy for the internal space you get but i suppose thats how there so good due to all the insulation in the walls and lid.

I can park behind my bivvy so will be leaving it in the car, but good idea all the same 👍🏻

My 25l has just arrived, it's a proper quality bit of kit, bit bigger and heavier than expected but it will usually stay in the van anyway so not a problem

I will sell my 25l without using it with my health issues its too heavy for me to much agg trying to send it back it was an impulse buy anyway dont need it lol

Got back from a tues to sunday session yesterday.
Took 5k back home in my 40l iceytek still half frozen.
