There is nothing on the updated guidance on the government website about camping overnight and doesn't say you have to return home the same day. All it says is you are not allowed to travel to go on holidays including going to second homes

Someone on tv tonight asked about how far can they travel to go to the beach and was told there wasn't a limit but as staying in hotels and b&b wasn't an option they would have to decide how far they would be prepared to go against how much time they would get at the beach. No mention if they stayed on the beach. I suppose that could transpose to fishing?

So you can't go camping but you can camp whilst angling.

For those of you that might be interested. This is the actual wording from the new document
Guidance
Our plan to rebuild: The UK Government's COVID-19 recovery strategy
To save you all having to read it like I just did. This is the relevant section on exercise. I should add I can't find anything prohibiting camping or forcing that you return home after a set period angling.
If you want to look it up this is chapter 4 subsection 1
Public spaces
SAGE advise that the risk of infection outside is significantly lower than inside, so the Government is updating the rules so that, as well as exercise, people can also now spend time outdoors subject to: not meeting up with any more than one person from outside your household; continued compliance with social distancing guidelines to remain two metres (6ft) away from people outside your household; good hand hygiene, particularly with respect to shared surfaces; and those responsible for public places being able to put appropriate measures in place to follow the new COVID-19 secure guidance.
People may exercise outside as many times each day as they wish. For example, this would include angling and tennis. You will still not be able to use areas like playgrounds, outdoor gyms or ticketed outdoor leisure venues, where there is a higher risk of close contact and touching surfaces. You can only exercise with up to one person from outside your household - this means you should not play team sports, except with members of your own household.
People may drive to outdoor open spaces irrespective of distance, so long as they respect social distancing guidance while they are there, because this does not involve contact with people outside your household.
When travelling to outdoor spaces, it is important that people respect the rules in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and do not travel to different parts of the UK where it would be inconsistent with guidance or regulations issued by the relevant devolved administration.
These measures may come with some risk; it is important that everyone continues to act responsibly, as the large majority have done to date. The infection rate will increase if people begin to break these rules and, for example, mix in groups in parks, which will trigger the need for further restrictions.

These are the updated guidelines of what can and can't be done. End of the day everyone just has to use their common sense and be as safe as possible whilst out of the house. There is nothing on there that says you have to return home each day and nothing about no camping?
So unless they are going to change their recently updated guidance then I don't see a problem with night fishing.
It's always best to take guidance from the government over any news outlets

Spot on. I've been amazed at the amount of callers to radio shows today who seemed unable to think for themselves. Calling in with stupid questions like they are expecting a document that literally spoon feeds them every single part of their lives. After careful consideration the government say it's ok to buy chocolate digestives on a Thursday if you stand on one leg. Jesus why can't people just do like you say and adopt a bit of common sense and think before they act. It's not hard is it. I wonder how half the idiots I've heard on the radio have actually survived to reach adulthood.

But Tracey on Facebook said you can't catch Coronavirus if you breath out of your mouth so why don't the government just tell everyone that and we can go back to normal
Thing is some people will read and believe anything they read on the internet. Remember the pics of the army vehicles that were on their way and we would 100% be going on a full lockdown at 9pm tonight and the army are going to be shooting people on sight. It's 100% true because my mates dad, his cousin knows a man who used to be friends with someone who walked the dog of a top government official 😂😂😂

I just hope for everyone's sake that some idiot (Probably Braders) doesn't end up doing something stupid and ruining it for all of us. Let's hope for everyone's sake, the elderly, the vulnerable, the poor people having to deal with this in the NHS that this really is the first signs of normality returning.
As Winston said “this is not the end, it's even the beginning of the end, but it is perhaps the end of the beginning”. Amen to that my internet friends.
