When I went to Tate Modern my wife told me that I had to be on my best behaviour or she would lose it.
I walked around trying to be appreciative. After about an hour I was looking in a room at the installation, then the description, then the art and looking confused.
Eventually she asked, "What is it? What's wrong?"
I said something like, "I'm confused, this is described as being red acrylic but it looks like metal to me".
The security guard burst out laughing.
Apparently I was looking at an air conditioning vent in the floor not the art work that was behind me!
I literally couldn't work out what was the building and what was the art!
But back to Dymag, why do they have a reverse taper on their handles? If it is so good why has no one else copied it?

The esp Hearn net is reverse taper, I don't get what the benefit is either

Regarding no one else using the reverse taper - it always baffles me why harrison would supply this superior net handle to dymag rather than just use it, or an upgraded version of it, on their own nets.
Surely marketing it themselves would effectively cut out dymag as the middle man and maximise their profits

My understanding is with the reverse taper is the thicker part of the pole is at the net end where all the weight is therefore making it more stable and less floppy

The bulk of the weight is at the net end sure, but it's all supported at the handle end, that's the end under the highest strain

chris brown reverse taper, harrison ballista was reverse taper (now unavailable) . I asked why they dont do them anymore never did get proper answer.

Only thing I can add to it is that I've had a lot and I mean a lot of nets with either a normal taper or no taper and none of been as stable as the dymag can't comment on the Chris brown but people seem to say a similar thing. For me the dymag had come into its own in really bad weedy situations other nets I've had have bent over like a rod in those situations making it hard work. My dymag felt totally different . Is it the reverse taper or Just how it's made I've got no idea but whatever it is does the job very well

my preference is the dymag and what I wouldn't want to happen is to buy a cb net and then dymag come available so I'm really undecided.

I was lucky I got a mk2 Dymag but it was a knife edge choice am positive the Chris Brown net is as good weight and handling wise AND
You can't go chucking a Dymag carbon net around the Chris Brown will definitely be more robust just buy one lol
