What is the mark up on these bivvies, be good to know as they do seem excellent quality so maybe its not a case of ridgemonkey screwing us all, more the margins are not as big as we all think. companies mark up but this is severe lack of research regarding the needs and financial situation of the average angler. Glamping springs to mind with these bivvies. To confirm I'm not knocking them quite opposite but but over the top for me. If you can afford one, good on you , get a 2 man let me know where we are going

I'm not a fan personally, but im sure they will sell shed loads once they are discounted.
They are clearly aimed at an ever increasing market for people that want a big comfortable shelter for long stay fishing and once the price gets sensible they will sell even more than they WILL at this price
there are lots of people with big pockets
The Oztent is a great bit of kit if that sort of shelter fits your needs so this being similar at a lot less wonga will appeal to lots of people
but cant see how their groundsheet is a £100 ? for the life of me

Hundred quid for a groundheet WTF.
RM is a now a get rich company. They have been going this way for a while and pulling our trousers round our ankles with their prices.
Shame, because they have some good ideas. I won't be buying any more RM kit. I feel that strongly on being ripped off. And unless we vote with our feet they will just continue.

Gerry I have the RV3 with sides,fly sheet and ground sheet and it was a lot less than the equivalent 2man rm tent.

Gerry they are £100 as someone has to pay for all the consultants, the large stands at the shows (floorspace costs) and the Euro fishing trips with filming
. The Ridgemonley stand at Brentwood was huge and that costs.

Just seen the new Aqua Pioneer 150 price as well, £799 for the Bivvy and £199 for the Skullcap... made my eyes water just thinking about it!
£1000 for a small Bivvy!
I've got 2 Brollies and a Cyprinus Base HQ 2 man with wrap and didn't pay much more than half the price of one of these for all of them!

Yeah they do look fecking hideous and the prices are a bit optimistic. Most of us actually own a bivvy or two and if you're like me, don't tend to rush out and buy a new one every couple of years. So, these are aimed at people who are looking to replace or upgrade their current gear? No thanks and then some.

Saw them at Zwolle last week and they do seem to be rock solid. Great materials and they're unlike any other bivvy I've come across before. However, they weren't all that spacious and I wondered what the fuss was all about. With a 2 year warranty and at 30 kg's its overkill, especially since you'll have to buy the extension to really make use of the extra space. Might as well buy any other large bivvy with an extension at 1/5 of the price.
