I think Ali has two choices now.
He either doubles down and hope this all blows over with nothing of note coming out due to it's usage IE. pictures of tethered carp, severe mouth damage etc.
or...
He listens to the angling public and brings out a mark II version, highlighting the fact he has our concerns at heart etc. He would get a small amount of my respect back for that, but he'll have to sort out the yes men around him who thought this was a great idea.
In my eyes, if he doesn't listen to concerns raised and one single fish dies as a result, he may as well pack it in entirely and crawl back under his marketing text books, because you deserve everything that's coming to you if you ignore (or in his case, openly mock) the people who have concerns about the quarry in their lake.
Not a lot gets my goat me in angling. Actually, that's a lie. A lot has got my goat, and a lot has stemmed from the days of Ali and his ilk shoving cameras underwater and turning this weird pastime into a "dip in/dip out" activity populated by an increasing large amount of cretins. Ali is a massive part of this new era, and if his stubbornness contributes to fish deaths then he can **** off far far away as far as I'm concerned.

You do have to accept that buying a house is a reasonably sizable, significant and costly endeavour, so the £2 or 3k it might cost you will likely protect you in the long run.
And, for clarity, we do have to read a shed load of books on the journey to protect your house purchase. You could always read those books, then sit the 100 hrs of exams yourself to save the £3k.
Anyway, back to abhorrent rig construction.

Well it won't because the chances of getting your rod licence checked are minimal to non existent , the chances of the EA doing rig checks is even less likely. It's down to clubs and commercial fisheries ( including what some people call syndicates ) to get banned. Most clubs are very slow to react to things , either addressing issues at a monthly meeting or have committees that are so out of touch it may remain unaddressed until an AGM if someone can be bothered to raise it.

Too late for a MK2, the market is already flooded with the death rig MK1.
The only way he can salvage this IMO is to hold his hands up, admit he has dropped a huge bollock and instigate a product recall. To ensure that anglers return the ones they have purchased he will have to give some sortvof incentive such as a voucher...Will cost them thousands but he's got a brand to save....

The part that will have the pressure dial on 11 for him is that there's a mainstream TV show already filmed I expect and let's face it, knowing him this horror is littered through that show in another constant marketing push.
The upshot is that he'll be selling his gadget to a market that a significant percentage of are telling him that this thing is incompatible with angling norms.
I bet that part alone is providing for sleepless nights. Extreme editing? Its going to need something else brand damage will get worse.

Seem to manage ok in a lot of other countries.
Mind you, our last move took just over 2 weeks. Amazing how efficient they can be when they want to go on holiday and it's coming up to their year end 🤔

Although this is a step to far in my eyes I keep up with OMC and all the other tackle company's, always looking at products that might be better than what I'm using now . Not hating OMC but they have produced nothing at all 🤔 . Clothing is a personal thing , it's ain't bad but his sheep keep saying how great it is when it still looks just like any other branded carp company . Hooks are all the same , wide , curve , choddy , iv got his blend coated braid , very average , so he needed something no other company made , hence I think they rushed head long into this unique OMC twig with no regard to morals or etiquette.
Latest cap is tactical , for heaven sake do people fall for this 🤔 , it might be ok looking but when it rained I pulled my hood up .

Maybe producers and other people on tv where it will be aired dont know yet about this potentialy harmfull (in some areas or countries illegal) device that he is using when filming... Pretty sure they dont want to be accused of promoting behavior like that.

Do you really think a £400 rod is 8 times more effective than a £50 one? Marketing catches people, not fish. John Wilson would out fish most 'carpers' with a bit of split cane and an old Mitchell ffs.
