I know you have binned it now when i used syncro i got on better with it spooling it with the line coming off the spool face up/ anticlockwise rather than spool rotating as esp recommend. Maybe as you think the line has changed?
A few years ago i switched to ogx in 18 i know this is a line you didn't get on with again spooled up with line coming off anticlockwise found it an excellent line using on my old 10000xt techs

Its either the ogx as i think I over spooled it,touchdown or gardner gt HD im going try next

I tried Ogx and found it awful. Frayed really bad around weed beds

I also found ogx to be terrible, constantly twisted, fraying on the lightest things and found it didn't cast brilliant either. Went back to synchro and that faced some line twist so now using gthd and not had a problem with it yet

GTHD next here aswell.

Just looked at gt HD on the gardner website, it gives some spooling info...
*We recommend spooling up GT-Hd with the label facing upwards (line coming off anti-clockwise) and periodically checking for line twist for the best possible results.
So if the recommendation is as above, then why do you have to periodically check for twists!
Anyone who sticks a spool in a bucket and takes the line off as per instructions and doesn't check for twist would be a fool really, but it's clear that to follow some YouTube or manufacturers instructions really isn't any sort of guarantee of well behaved line spooling.

They have the spool upright, and the label to the left, with the line coming off the bottom towards you.
It's very easy to get any one of these wrong as it isn't clearly mentioned in the video!!!
This is why the angler must do their own checks and not blindly follow some advice as there could be too many variables.
