BIG ..thank you to Baitman for putting up my pics..
The lake is very close ,and I mean disected by not one ,but two spate watercourses,the holt ,and river kill platforms are right behind my bivvy ,and the long stretch of mesh...thats how far or close those motorways are..
I reckon the fence is around 12 yrs old now ,it's weathered nicely ,and not too obtrusive I guess..
It's powered or trickle solar charged by two solar panels,a single battery will last us two weeks in winter,low light levels,and a month when days are longer...I get recharge
cycles of over 250 times on each battery,if it drops down to less than 9v ,it auto cuts to provide a less intermittent pulse..
You can see the fairly new double meshing ..so ,you don't have to spend lots to do a fence on a two acre lake ...think.it was £900,back then ,we or I should say I, did all the posting ..
Hope that helps those who say they can't afford it or whatever..

I have been involved in predation eduction for a long time..
Anyway the pics of myplace,is not the first proper otter fence in my area,it was the second ,that being a small lake near lanson,...the lanson fence worked well,sadly ,lanson massive with their indelible forethought ,couldn't be bothered to park correctly and took short cuts over the fence eventually damaging it..
So that lake ,had an original design, by Alan Beat ,fence..which I helped with ,mine being based on both..
I do not know of one single lake in my area which has NOT been predated to a high or low level...as nearly all lakes are bang next to a lutra motorway..
However,the worst fence I have seen award,goes to Hengar Manor,which only half fenced at double the cost of a full fence,so award of fence fails goes to them,sadly this place now has been max predated,and lodge caravan disease..
No fence no fish ,no future...word..!
