Harrison, century etc. still make a profit. If it wasn't lucrative nobody would make fishing rods and if every manufacturer ran at minimal profit margin there would be no free content available to watch or read.
Even if a rod costs £1 to make but £100 to buy.. spend a few weekends trying to roll blanks or split and whip some cane to make yourself a few rods lol

So you know how much nash put in to the design and development of these rods that others have copied in many cases with lower quality carbon blanks and cheaper fittings. Plus nash have invested in promoting them especially when first released. You also claim their profit margins on them are higher than others manufacturers, doubt you can prove that but would be interested if you can, and I do mean prove not just rant off the un substantiated you have been doing. The top man at kawasaki once said its nice to be first to market with a new product but often more profitable to be second with little or no R&D costs.

And a Nash moon chair thing at 100 quid. Garden centres near me doing them for about a third of the price.

The reality is, there are only so many ways to make a rod. Doesn't matter if it's made by a Korean, Chinese person, Malaysian or Steve Harrison himself.. the materials and methods are the same.
ESP/drennan have always struck the right balance with sensible assembly, so I'm sure these rods will be great. I expect a higher spec woven blank model if these do well too.
Nash did throw money at this concept and took a bashing. Now they have the best range by far and lead the market others are just tapping into. They deserve to charge a premium for a proven product that set the standard
