My mates love them but one of them has heard that during testing some line came off the spool during a cast

Is that the xta that is the same body as the original xt? i believe some xt's have failed this way after the screw has come loose.
My original 4 xt's are over 20 years old and have been my main reels in this time have been opened a couple of times for services etc on every occasion the screw has still been tight with no sign of undoing, i dont think its as common a fault as being made out.

Its not very common but when they did fail this way they could cause a lot of damage as far as i am aware it is something that most people that service reels check, i was shown and told about it from gary at custom reels.

The screw come loose as often as basia spindles bend, both very rare but let's not let facts get in the way of the my mates mate stories.

Just had my Castizms serviced and I know that Ant who did them has done a few of the techs with the screw issue
