Doesn't the road map also say that people will no longer be legally required to stay at home from 29th March but minimise all travel, wherever possible?

That was my argument before in another thread, the AT in the November lockdown said that fishing overnight was ok, because you wasnt camping.

I'm just trying to find a positive to stop all the whinging...
I'd say if camping overnight is going to be allowed from that date, then it's a fair bet to say there'll be no obstacles for night fishing - and no need for the AT to try and circumvent rules...
if it's sooner then fair enough, but I can't see it being later given that statement

there lays an issue and the AT wording was wrong, albeit people picked the bones out of it purely to look for a loop hole
camping is fishing at night, we hardly sit there all night with a float rod in hand

I think we are being pessimistic thinking April 12th. Fishing is seen as exercise and good for mental wellbeing. We could go fishing even when golf was banned.
My money is on March 29th.
My first non-syndicate paid session is the 13th April, wow, I could be the first doing nights, and bagging up.

I agree you would think this was pretty straight forward, nope ! Just tried to rearrange 2 sessions I've got booked for the 17th of March for 48hrs and the 24th of March for 48hrs (been booked since December) neither are willing to rebook yet because they reckon it will change by then and apparently the angling trust are pushing for us to be allowed sooner 🤷♀️ Then after the 29th of March he said (stay local) Got a 4 day session booked for the 6th of April but is about 3 hours away that lake is also saying they won't re book yet till they no whats going to be classed as local.
3 different lakes all saying the same thing, are angling trust telling them something else that we don't no?

Some people seem unable to draw a line between fishing at night and overnight fishing.
I had a bit of confrontation last night, I had a late start this morning so finally found time to get a few hours down the river, left home around 9, ten minute walk to the river, one rod+centrepin, no chair, no brolly..
Apparently that's not allowed

Fair enough, but the wording here is open to interpretation. If you are no longer legally required to stay at home, then no laws are being broken if you do.
Travel should be minimised. So, what's the difference between going fishing for the day or going for a couple of days? It's still 2 journeys.
Unless the parameters are clear and framed legally, people will interpret these restrictions, with some validity. Which is why Baw-Jaws made such a mess of things not once, but 3 times, now.

Unfortunately they were the words of a Mr Salter. Tbf this whole thing is governed by the people now. The government have to preempt what the people are going to do, so they dont look like they are losing control
