You haven't answered the point I made which I believe is very valid.
Say you're a competitive match angler, and although you may not be able to compete, you need somewhere to keep your honed skill levels sharp, with that comes bait = shops.
You said that tackle shops are not essential, maybe not to you they're not, but not everyone is you, you know?

Do you genuinely believe that Terry Hearn can only get hold of fresh casters by going into his local tackle shop? Or do you think that there was possibly an element of pleasant staging here to add to the story? If joe bloggs on here knows to go direct to a maggot farm for the freshest bait I'm pretty sure TH has that covered too.

A local hair and beauty shop remained fully open in Tier4, someone was going to report it but another said no don't do that it was an essential shop because it was the only shop that sold a certain type of hair product (supermarkets and chemists don't sell it) they said their hair desperately needed it. When that person was questioned they got very irate.
So how far do we go with what's essential for people in lockdown?

I went to the tip yesterday and drove past a Costa coffee,it was rammed outside and no social distancing at all.If the government is going to do this properly then lockdown absolutely everything other than supermarkets.

That's a really good point as to what's essential and what isn't.
I did think to myself that women especially would find not being able to beautify themselves a really big problem. Might sound harsh but I did giggle a fair few times some of the pictures that I'd seen in the first lockdown when women weren't able to get their hair and makeup done...the absolute state of some of them

The only essentials are food, water and medication.
Fishing is neither exercise nor essential and when there are some people unable to feed their families and/or losing homes, moaning about not being able to fish is actually pretty selfish.. and if those wanting to go are on furlough they shouldn't be allowed to go during their normal working hours at the very least, they're being paid to stay the **** at home

If an 'essential' shop can't achieve social distancing then it should close down.
Supermarkets do it, so no excuses for Costa a nationwide company.
Personally I don't think coffee shops should open as they don't serve substantial meals but then we get into is a pork pie a substantial meal thing so I'll leave it there

Thats a very good way of looking at it but for me if its going cause all this selfishness then ban it completely.
