I fully agree it is. But I spend a large amount snag fishing. Proper locked up and to me there priceless

I've used these to good effect, quite similar to the ones Gerry offered up
PB Products bungee fishing rod locks, they're unbelievably simple to use and great value at £5.50 rod.

Your right but everything is to expensive now carp companies have been far to expensive for years let's see what this year brings see if people want to spend £140 on 3 butt rests or £500 for a pod £800/for a bivvy or the Nash hoodie at £100 or put it towards there £2500 energy bill or buying food for there kids

Luckily I got all these things are around the prices you mentioned if not more before all this hit so wasn't to bad spending that's rot of money, don't think I'd be able to soon tho if needed, I'm about to order a set of custom rods think it's going to be my last big purchase for a while

government algorithm sees how much is spent on "leisure" and then decides anyone who can spend £60 for 3 bits of korda plastic to hang on their lines, or £100 for the latest piece of tingtong nash gash, and thinks "we should tax everything a bit more"

These are about £2-3 each and are all you ever need, unless you have cork or full duplon.
Spend more if you must

BTW, the silicone hair bands are used to secure the rods when folded, and when the rods are in use they are left on the end of the rear duplon to prevent the rod slipping through the butt grips.

Cost of items is all a personal choice. A £50 rod will catch you the same carp a £300 rod will. Same as a cheap car will get you to the same place a 50k car will.

Ended up selling the Jag locks and bought me PB Products Bungee Rod Locks, the are perfect for me, paid £10.79 for a pair..

"Quality components" don't make me laugh.

without exception every car has well know faults usually down to poor quality components.
from ladas right up to supercars. I bet it would be hard to find any vehicle today that didn't have component parts made in the far east.
I worked in the motor trade for many years, I know the origins of most of them.

that said, you are very accurate about carp tackle and its pricing .

Have been using these for donkeys years for securing rods together etc. Far more visually appealing.

I recently ordered a butt bungy [following Gerrys advice] from an online supplier, and I'v tried everything but I cant for the life of me figure out how it attaches to my bankstick,,
