Issues understanding stuff? I understand perfectly why you don't want people in your village. I get it. I told you I did. I just asked if you got why people wanted to be there. You don't. You made that clear.

I'll give an answer if I may.
Most of the people who can afford 2nd homes on the coast and in the country, live in affluent areas, in spacious, often detached houses with gardens.
And as such, they are in a position to stay perfectly safe, if they self isolate, more so than those in high rise flats and crowded, urban estates.
I suggest their desire to travel to their holiday homes is not based on safety, but a desire to sit out the lockdown in a nice, holiday setting. They are not considering the pressure they might be applying to rural communities and medical services, they're just going for a jolly.
They know the rules of the lockdown, but are arrogant enough to think they don't apply to them.

I don't know Greekskii from Adam (although in this case it seems apparent that the angry bloke in the West Country is called Adam, so I obviously can tell them apart..) but it's unfair to call him a troll. He's just pointing out that those who are arriving in rural communities have their motives, that they themselves see as valid. It's hard to see the 'bigger picture' when it's the wellbeing of you and your family that's on the line. I'm sure that's true for the vast majority of us.
BTW I bought my first Trangia stove in 1984, and now use a Swedish bought dark grey hard anodised 27.

Both Wandle and I live in rural areas and suggest we are probably better placed than you to make observations about the affluence of 2nd home owners in our areas, from the evidence of our own eyes and info from others in our counties.
They are perfectly safe in London in their areas if they observe the lockdown and especially if they have their groceries delivered. It's not the blitz, with bombs raining down.

Maybe being the aggrieved in the situation is putting you in a single track mindset which you cannot see out of. You think they are all doing it for a jolly, I think if you asked them they'd tell you different. You've put them all in the same boat without a second thought and zero intent to even see it from any other angle than your own.

Many of us on here could go and fish deserted waters within the rules of social distancing, but we don't because we feel we have a moral obligation to observe the lockdown.
