There must be.a criminal case to answer to if .gov are actively coercing individuals to take medications or loose their employment if they chose not to take medications. Maybe it's all in these emergency powers and gives .gov the ability to swerve laws which would otherwise make such coercive practices illegal. I don't know.
All of this and the passport stuff is a very, very slippery slope all in the name of a flu with a 99.7% + survival rate for the vast majority, mind blowing.

Nope. Not a criminal case. Some unfair dismissal test cases might surface but the silence was deafening in terms of support for care staff when it was voted through.
Speaking objectively on it, the primary justification is the protection of the vulnerable residents and patients who most likely don't have that 99.7% survival rate.
There are similar precedents. NHS staff have to be vaccinated for hepatitis B I'm told.
Bus drivers need additional driving qualifications.
People working with children and vulnerable adults undergo enhanced CRB checks.
The common thread being the protection of the people these employees come into contact with.

Yeah a good read
I liked the bit that points out that to gain natural immunity, you first have to contract the virus. You can't just decide to develop it without the risk of illness or worse.

As far as I'm aware, your doctor can not coerce you into taking medicine, and if they did, that would be illegal and lead to a criminal prosecution. I can only assume as I've mentioned in the post you've replied to is that these emergency powers somehow evade legal repercussions.
Nice strawman with your inclusions of bus drivers etc. What you're failing to grasp is that we're talking about a medical procedure forced on an employee. Also, and most importantly is that this medical procedure involves a drug that is still in its test stage and hasn't passed all the rigours that require any drug to go through before it's deemed safe for use with all of the known and associated risks/side effects clearly written on the packaging, just like any other drug out there being used...you know?

I'm not failing to grasp anything. Simply being objective and drawing relevant parallels about contracts of employment and how certain conditions are in place to protect others. There are medical conditions placed on lots of jobs. As said already, the hep B jab for nurses.
I've seen how it all transpired in the care sector through reading all of the correspondence and industry / union standpoints with my sister who was sacked from her job weeks ago. It's not a criminal case. Like I said, maybe some test cases for unfair dismissal and industrial tribunal etc might follow, but I wouldn't hold my breath - especially not at the moment...
I'm not defending it nor liking it. I am however able to see the opposing points of view.
