TECHNIUM
I bought 6 spools of the 12lb grey Technium, used 1 bulk spool to redo one set of reels and the line has been fine for over a season. No breaks.
I am a bit paranoid due to hearing what others have experienced, so your test gives me a bit more hope
Next time I respool some reels I will give the line a yank every now and again whilst loading it on.

The fact they admit the coating has changed is proof enough it’s changed. They added the coating of the wiry line (bad) to the limp line (which was good) and now the limp is wiry. I don’t think we need call on the skills of one Hercule Poirot for this mystery…

Yep me too, I never considered changing for years, I was totally sold on the stuff, never ever let me down.

As I'm new to the joys of Synchro XT I can't compare it to its older self. But last time out I had it on two reels and Technium on the other.
If it was the weather that has caused it to suddenly become a horrendous, unmanageable mess then so be it, but the Technium continued to be it's super friendly, reliable self, despite the hot dry weather.

what b/s technium you using?? I see the 15lb is .38

one thing I do notice with the xt now is it really takes on water, i fish semi slack lines and every morning the bobbins tight up to the alarm.....not just tight but string bow tight even when I take bobbin off and slacking it off it takes a fair bit of line to get tbe bobbin with a nice drop

XT Update
I spoke to Johnson Ross about the line and explained how it’s been behaving very differently (and not in a good way) compared to how it used to. They suggested I bring the reels in, so I did this morning. A couple of the lads had a look, as did Anthony. They agreed it didn’t look brilliant, but said they hadn’t had anyone else complain about it.
They asked how I’d been loading it. I said I soak it in water first – they said they never do that. Fair play to them, they’ve respooled the reels for free. It already looks less lively on the spool, but the proof of the pudding will be in the eating. Something has clearly changed for me, though they go through a lot of line so it’s worth listening to what they’re saying.
I wonder how much difference the soaking actually makes? Thinking about it on the way home, I can’t even remember when or why I started soaking it before loading. I used to use an old Berkley line winder that was purely mechanical – not a million miles away from the set-up they use at JR.
I’ll report back on how it goes. Fair play to JR – this was never about the money, I just want to be able to trust the line to perform like it has in the past. I’d have happily paid for the new line, so kudos to them for sorting it free of charge.

It will behave exactly the same once it's been in the lake a few hours,I tried not soaking it and thats what happened to me.I hope im wrong but keep us posted 👍

Im struggling with my 18lb Synchro. Ive never known line coil up like it, although I'm not sure it affects the fishing once in the water.

I've never soaked any line before spooling up and have never had any problems like this before. It went onto the spools absolutely fine, hung limp and twist free and stayed like that for one session and then it just got progressively worse.
Bloody expensive mistake buying this rubbish and from a company that I thought would only produce quality kit.

I’ve got the syncro XT in 15lb on 4 of my reels I had to buy a new spool of it for the 2 new reels I bought,I soaked it for 24 hours and it went on great then come to use it this week in a 3 day session and it’s cooling off the spool as I sent the boat out with a rig,the other 2 reels are the same they were loaded up about 3/4 months ago with same line different spool bought from a different shop.other than that it sinks well and is really strong when playing fish,apart from the springy feeling and coming off the reel in coils of it it seems ok,normally when I’ve got new line I wrap it round a fence post lead only and walk backwards and stretch a good few feet out and then cast it out into the lake but forgot this time.
Next time I change the line I’m going back to the OGX line.

yep same for me , i spooled up 2 out of my 3 reels for a weeks fishing and every time i open the bail arm it fly,s off the spool like i have a an electric line striper attached, the 1 reel with the old XT on is sound behaves nice
I have emailed esp and had a reply pretty much straight away,no shops have had any complaints from customers and nothing has been changed apparently

Personally, I think that there's so many variables with line that people are less likely to complain to shops. The fact that it only seemed to misbehave after a session or two doesn't help either.
Could it have been caused by an issue with the way it was loaded? Has it been reeled in looped around a guide? Has it been dragged through a weed bed?
It's hardly a broken chair or bank stick where it being broken is a purely objective point of view
I've been sent some of their older stock. I've put it on and will use it a couple of times in the next few weeks to see how it compares
