Exactly this. People take it well to far lol. It's free fishing on mainstream tv they have to appeal to everyone and have a laugh along the way.
I wish it was on every week got to be better than the soaps. And I'm sure they don't care what miserable old people think on a forum

Tom Dove is the executive producer so I'm guessing he's involved in the planning...
I mean, it's not Passion for Angling but it's fine - passes the time when I'm cooking dinner. I happen to like their chemistry on screen. I also liked it with Ali.
I feel as though some of the responders here have been personally hurt by the programme. Lighten up!

It's free , I like the two rather than Ali , it goes to some nice lakes , I laugh at some of the stuff , people own a remote control 🤔

I watched the 3 episodes on catchup I quite like it apart from as I said the very silly last few mins of the African one where it might have appealed to anyone below the age of 8 years old I guess ?
as far as rig talk goes what is there to say ?
they both just use the spinner rig it seems ? if I were to criticize is its not spontaneous and Im sure a lot of funny stuff is cut out and the clearly rehearsed stuff isnt really funny

and you get to see some different venues and some nice fish so its a
from me and im 77 and have carp fished since 1962 so the derogatory comments are not from the miserable old people but a lot more by the younger ones it seems to me

I think you're right on a lot being cut out. These two are really good friends, ITV and the world being the way it is now, will cut out anything that could mildly offend.
Having carp fishing on the TV can only be a good think like you say, but being mainstream they will have to try and appeal to as many non fisherman as they can otherwise it won't be on for long

In my youth I worked in the film industry for just over a year Stage hand at Shepperton film studios
then got offered a job for a company that provided the location mobile changing rooms which we towed their and went out with the crew at night and often the actors too
this was great fun
and a short commercial can be 4 hours of filming they edit it chop it about these washing clothes adverts make me laugh dont know if they are still getting away with it today ? but they just run it backwards so the one thats spose to have been washed is the one just out of the packet BEFORE they made it dirty lol
I would bet a pound to a pinch of shyte in an episode of Monster carp thats got a run time of 45 mins there are is far longer footage than that on the cutting room floor so to speak they will film different dialog for the same scenes etc and select the best
some complete scenes will be cut out completely for sure its the norm

My point was purely agreeing with the previous post, there is probably a lot of stuff cut that is hilarious, however isn't able to be shared in today's climate, and some stuff left in that is less funny but unlikely to offend anyone.
