Who said it then? If a shop told you not to get basias, then suggested you go elsewhere to buy other reels, im assuming they didnt have a daiwa account anyway, so surely wont worry about losing it based on your revelations of top secret conversations.
And the mates that bent the spindles one, again. Danny fairbrass and darrell peck have used basias for years. And the same sets at that. And they fish far more than any regular person would. Danny fairbrass is a multi millionaire, so could change reels weekly if he wanted. Yet hasnt, and im sure if he had any issues, he would have done.

They don't just not pay for them, they actually get paid by Daiwa!
Off camera, from what I hear from a friend who works there, most of them choose to use Basias, Infinity rods (but a Longbow for Spodding), Tempests and anything but the new Delkims

If it's fox, they have no choice in not selling basias. They're made by Daiwa
If it's tackle box, they probably didn't sell them to you because nobody pays the rrp for reels and they don't compete on price

Have you ever actually owned basias? Or is this all based off what “mates” have told you, and what this mystery shop said? I have basias, have had for over. Decade, not a single issue, a few mates have had aswell, no issues for them either. Maybe your “mates” are just clumsy and dont look after stuff.

The Tacklebox offer their SAH service on Basia's,i have not read up on it but I'm sure it's an extended warranty done by them.Why would they offer that service on a product with so many faults,it would end up costing them money if people were constantly sending Basia's back

I treated myself to a couple of Basia 45QDA's over ten years ago and never looked back. I've used Mitchell 300s, Cardinals, Baitrunners - standard and the tank that is the Long Cast and also have a set of Penn 7000s. All I can say is that they are a pleasure to use, coupled with the right rod it's like match fishing, the whole set up feels in-sync and balanced.
I've used them at a variety of ranges and on rivers, channels and expansive Dutch meres - just joyful. The drag is lovely and properly 'stepped' and contrary to the current 80's trend of backwinding, never suffered line twist playing fish off the clutch. The Penn's are great all rounders, reliable and good value for money but if you've been fishing for a while and want to treat yourself...go for it. The Daiwa service was prompt and quick, I lost a bale arm screw after 7years (user error) in a pit so just sent the reel back direct to Daiwa - far quicker than waiting for a retailer to do it. Just bought a 3rd from Tackle UK in Somerset and got my brother to send it to me in NL
