I wonder if that's because the 2.25 blank was designed as a floodwater barbel blank, which has to deal with casting huge loads but still be forgiving for smaller fish/lighter hook links.
That's kind of why I'm looking at the chimera no3 for my carp rods, along with the 2.5 ballista and a couple of the torrix blanks

That and that it's just designed to have more performance beyond the tc. Because Kev's big snipers are built on TEs and are more usable than the factory spec I'd say it's in the layout as much as anything.
I know he likes a blank with some power rather than a noodle, which I've always said too. A faster action lighter tc blank that has a usable tip for short range flicks, handles heavy loads for a lob, casts 100 yards and can pull 10lb when needed is an all round rod
I want some 10' 1.75s, I love the 11' torrix in that tc but not sure how the barbel stalker they make compares

The 2.5tc torrix will do that correctly built, having rods capable of casting light leads a good distance is a huge advantage for presentation on weed/silt rather than burying deep in it.

The 2.25 will too mate. That's what the snipers were
That's why I think a sensible quality 2.75 blank built correctly is as close to an all round performer as you could get and still please most people. Because most wouldn't go below that and certainly wouldn't want 8mm guides on the tip section, once you go to10 or above on the tip I think they're getting too tall and heavy for that style of build

The 2.75tc torrix I didn't like much as it felt out of ballance with light leads the accurix is a buitifull blank but as I've said the factory build with 40mm ring set even on the 2.5tc spoils it for me and would love to try one with a match style build.

The 2.5 chimera were brilliant for flicking sub 1oz bombs about, I'm not sure the torrix 2.5 is as good for that.
I'm really missing that ability using my 3.25 cerberas, but of course it's balanced out by being able to stick a decent sized bag at range. Trouble is I'd guess 60% of the carp I've caught have been under 30 yard casts, and 90% below 80 yards, so low tc, quick action rods are perfect for me

Yeah that build seems silly on the accurix, you'll probably find that without the weight of those 40s it's a completely different animal and really needs a 2-2.25 in the range.
@duggs, that's sort of what I said to Kev when talking about some travel rods. He was happy enough to chop and mix multiple blanks and add joins where he saw fit. Not many builders with the nerve to do that!

I would say thats an out of date list , they have dropped lots of blanks in the last 2 months alone including the low t.c ballistas
I built some 2.5 accurix with 10 guides 25ml butt for a tench angler he is really impressed with them.

Are the tryptich (sp) blanks gone too?
Its a shame, there was always a blank perfect for what I wanted, if they streamline much more I think there'll be a bit more variety in my rod collection in the future

Yep they have gone im afraid so have the interceptors which were lovely ! last time i spoke to steve and tis they said just no call for them anymore .

Some of the range could do with updating tbh.
Wasn't the 2.5 ballista only added when they dropped the chimera carp rods?
