The way some posts are worded I think they mean
Cyprinus is Trakker, one and the same. But then the 2nd half of the post contradicts it.
My gut feeling and loking at companies house and knowing how the Drabble guys operate. They are not the same.
Maybe they couldn't stop Cyprinus copying so came to an arrangement?

I believe it comes down to what's actually patented. For instance you couldn't just patent “fishing bivvy” or “fishing shelter” as that would be too generic and wouldn't get passed. You can only patent a unique feature, in the case of the tempest that would need to be something like the block. You couldn't patent say the fanned out legs as that's been done by the Titan and pioneer. My guess is that cyprinus looked very closely at the patent for the tempest and changed whatever they needed to, to avoid infringement. My guess is Trakker won't be happy but they risk losing a ton of money in legal fees trying to fight that, if it's even possible, and with Chinese directors good luck enforcing against them.
The fast and lights are just an umbrella. I stand to be corrected but I highly doubt there's anything under patent there. Once Trakker finished with the mk1 design, if there's a load of stock in the factory I don't think there's much they can do to stop it being rebadged and sold by cyprinus.

maybe they don't let them? the factory just uses them if they have surplus? if they are looking to hide that they now have a budget brand wouldn't they be more careful with packaging?

doubt its anything to do with Trakker or Aqua etc as these shelters are all made in the same Chinese factories and if they have a pile of boxes they can use dont suppose they will want to throw them away ?
