It is not false. Also, if you are such a bait buff, why is it you have another thread enquiring about buying bait from a company? Seems odd for someone who thinks they have so much knowledge.

Please re-read what I have written as you are confused.

I said the temperature kept the same not different? You keep contradicting yourself.

Ps I've studied advanced physics at Brighton university so no I'm not mistaken.

So you don't really know about rolling bait and yet you come on here and tell people with decades of experience rolling bait that they are wrong? Priceless....

well there is, you can help them by offering advice and help from fonts of knowledge such as yourself and pete (who both have kindly helped me over the past month) only to say you are wrong with no evidence to back up their claims.

That's just it, evidence. Theory is just that, theory. In practice its a very different story as you well know

Doesn't this topic fall more towards chemistry?

Its a wind up thread but I'll ask a question anyway, wouldn't the core of the bait reach a much higher temperature through baking? Steaming also sounds good on paper but my baits were cooked through rather than just skinning over

My bait also doubled in size and filled with air pockets when making floater cake in the oven with exactly the same mix

Some companies do actually steam their baits already. Out of the bag you wouldn't tell the difference between steamed and boiled with the ones that I've seen

Maybe my mix wasn't suitable or the method wrong, but by the time they felt firm enough to stick the core was pretty firm rather than still raw paste, it also took longer than boiling so I gave up with it after a couple of test batches

Maybe different using commercial sized steamers too at a guess? There's a company local to me that steams, it's quite an impressive setup they have, and their baits are very good and catch a lot of fish. Not actually played around with doing it with my baits. If it ain't broke and all that..
