If you out them on local then they shouldn't pick others alarms up. I'm sat now withing 200 yards of 3 other sets and as we all have the on local it's fine, I did have mine on distant but got the warning where it double buzzes and all the lights flash twice to tell me there was chance of interference so switched to local and no bother. Besides, you will get faults with any item which is mass produced, and as you say their customer service is brilliant, unlike the company which makes your current alarms!

I remember this 20 odd years ago when my mate had a set of delks and I bought a set of original Rx's.
We proved unequivocally that the rx in vibration mode registered more beeps per metre than a delk. We also proved that the deakin registered no beeps on a drop back when drawing the line back from past the rod tip.
Tell ya what though the good old RX registered it though on vibration mode.
A very well respected NW angler alerted me to the slow dropback failings on a delkim years before as he watched a slow dropkick on a lake in winter and hit the rod before the bobbin hit the deck and had a fish on. The delkim never made a sound...

Because when you have a drop back you do notice when the hanger isn't where it was....... I'd have thought that was rather obvious

I presume you sleep at night don't you?? In that case rather obviously it may have dropped to the deck with no sound and then the fish decides to charge off in the other direction....

A shame this thread has gone this way and turned into a pointless debacle.
Some folk love them, others hate them.
A bit like marmite.
At the end of the day if they were crap, folk would have stopped buying them by now....

I actually bought a set as the anti theft capability really appealed because of where i was fishing. The problem was that sitting on the bank of a very expensive french trip and watching the tow of the stream that fed it sending the bobbin up and down (very slowly) with no indication whatsoever left me rather dissapointed to say the least. It certainly didn't feed me with much confidence for sleep time put it that way LOL
Ian - heres another Mystic Meg moment - most people rely on their buzzer for indication so, if you watch your bobbin all day to see exactly whats going on then i would question whether you would need a buzzer (of any description) at all...

Get the new Delks, you won't be disappointed. There are a lot of settings on them which takes a bit of getting used to but once you have, you will be very pleased.
Like Ian has said, if you know how to use them (new and old versions) then there shouldn't be a problem.
I had the TXIs for years and no problem, I now have the new ones and couldn't be happier. They have registered all bites to perfection.

That's one of the features I like about them the fact that you can set them to ignore 'bobbin creep' or slow movements such as wave motion etc
The ability to adjust sensitivity levels to ignore extremely slow (snails pace) line movement, is a feature that makes the Delkim particularly good in the wind, preventing false indications from wind gusts and “indicator creep”.
There is also an important phenomenon known as stiction or static friction, which can be defined as resistance to the start of movement, as opposed to simply friction, which is resistance to movement after motion has started. As stiction is overcome and the line starts to move, there is a short burst of vibrations that actually adds to the effectiveness of the Delkim vibration system and further ensures that no bites are missed.

But these "experiences" usually are user error! People blame them for wind bleeps, where that CAN be stopped when used properly, you say they don't record drop backs, well actually yes they do so again user error, maybe if people actually put a bit of effort in to learn how to use them then they wouldn't have the "problems" that they experience! They are the most versatile alarm on the planet when used properly, and you won't tell me any different. I've used various roller buzzers, and they simply don't cut it for all circumstances. Admittedly for 99% of carp angling situations then pretty much anything will do, but you go and use rollers for something like predator fishing and see how that goes for you in the long term....

Thats wasn't a specific setting on mine. It did it on every single setting I adjusted across the whole range.
I actually had a take watching the bobbin without a single bleep as the line stopped moving and then dropped back real slow and the bobbin hit the deck with no sound. Picked to rod up and landed a 50lb+ mirror. In fact I had 2 takes in half an hour in the week and didn't get a beep out the buzzers once. One 50 and a 37 off Ribiere.
Sold them as soon as I got back.
