Boris trying to create a compliant press and media , it's a slippery slope that we are accelerating down by the day , it seems to suite some of the misguided gullible few ,but to those that know their history , the rise and promotion of far right nationalism never ends well !

Whatever happened to Bojo's oven ready deal regarding Europe , looks like Boris lied again regarding the backtracking of a hard border in Ireland , no surprise there then !

Julian Assange goes on trial today for using the freedoms of investigative journalism to expose war crimes.

Also today, the UK government are defending the right to have freedoms for investigative journalists.

Also today, no ‘free' media are covering the Assange trial.

Also today, the UK government aren't defending the right to have freedoms for investigative journalist Julian Assange.

Of course. It's why they will do everything in their power to keep him locked up.
Whatever happened to the right to free media eh? Only took them a day to change their minds.

Greekskii , perhaps you should maybe get your facts right, saying that knife crime is a pandemic that has been going on for decades simply isn't true
I live in London, I have for six decades and I can honestly say that knife crime back in the 80's 90's 00's was NEVER at the level it is now, I'm not saying stabbings didnt happen but mate it certainly wasn't a pandemic, I used to go out in London ( and I say London because that is my experience but it's as good a place as any to use as an example) in the late 70's, 80's and 90's without a care, in areas that I wouldn't be seen dead in after midnight these days... excuse the pun but it wasn't intended, stabbings were a relative rarity back then so let's have some facts please
Of course I would love to see the statistics if you can supply them?
Can I ask how old you are, do you even have any experience of the UK during those so called knife crime pandemic times?
When you ask other people to stick to the facts perhaps you should fact check your own!

Was only a few years ago the MSM started doing a daily count of stabbings in London like it was something new...followed by people in those communities and areas saying it's been like that for decades and it's anything new at all. Different gangs, same thing. Makes you really wonder what the actual agenda of the MSM is on reporting it when they never bothered before.

That's what you have posted

it's very easily to generalise and make throwaway statements like above so who are these communities and people who have been saying that for decades, my Mum lived in Bow on the borders of Hackney through the 70's to recent times, I've visited her for years, I don't remember her community shouting about it
Perhaps you are talking about inner city estates that are termed ‘gutter estates', that are rife with crime, even then your statement that knife crime has been at pandemic levels for decades still isn't true across society as even if it were in some rather nasty inner city areas then it's not representative of the population

I've just walked up Cat Bells in the Lake District, luckily not much knife crime to worry about up here!

Funnily enough you didn't mention the last 2 decades? 00-10 and 10-20. That's your decades right there where Knife crime, maybe I should have said gang related crime involving knives, has become a pandemic. It's strange because you've automatically assumed I know nothing about it...which in itself is just as Obtuse as you claim I am being. It seems as you don't really know much either, these people don't go and stab random people for a joke, it's gang related and somewhat targeted. A bit like football hooliganism is. Which if you want to go in to it, was rife with stabbings in the 80s/90s.

My auntie lives in London (And has done since the 70s) to use your example, I have heard first hand over the last 20 years how Gang related crime is in her area. Multiple attacks a week. Gunshots heard weekly, stabbings regularly.
Again, I have friends in London and my parents also lived there for a decade in the 80s. My dad lived in Brixton and a few other deprived areas, and can recount plenty of incidents of stabbings, shootings and other violence between gangs.

I'd suggest before you try and come at someone and assume they know nothing, you should maybe try and sound it out a bit first before you make yourself look silly. Knife crime may have escalated in the last decade but it's always been rife, unreported so you wouldn't know it's even occurring. In the small town I grew up in I remember stabbings happening but only hearing of it through people not the local news. It's worse now but it's always been about.

history of knife crime .

Knife crime also has direct links to poverty as in it rises when poverty does , the bit they don't like to mention !

I haven't made myself look silly at all, On the contrary it's clearly something you know a lot about as you do it yourself on a daily basis
Read my post mate because I do mention the 00's so there you go spouting s h i t again
Like I said you made a throwaway comment and didn't say a thing about gang related crime in your original post, perhaps you could be a little more concise next time
I too do not like you because you spout crap all day long, I won't get into a tit for tat with a hypocrite like you who one minute is criticising the police for being over zealous or too brutal for a snowflake like you and on the other hand you make statements about knife crime as if to criticise the authorities for doing something wrong or not doing enough, who knows as you are probably just as confused as me as to your point at times
Of course there is a correlation to crime and poverty but it appears you have all the answers, perhaps you should give BoJo a call and suggest ways of solving some of these issues
It's clear you are anti police by previous statements you have made
I'm not condoning police brutality but if they are dealing with dangerous individuals who would do harm to them and the public then personally I think it's a fair tactic
Anyway enjoy your rubbing up everybody.... seems like you have little else to do!
As for me it's back to my holiday, this will be one of a very infrequent posts by me but just like to get the facts out there for all to see

Of course you haven't made yourself silly Henry, far from it, all of your posts are well thought out and intelligent.

As you say it's not worth getting in a tit for tat over, best to let him have the last word

I won't be replying if he replies to this

The ‘facts' you have no actual factual evidence for? How exactly are they facts?
Are you scozza in disguise with your assumptions? I wasn't criticising anyone, just stating a fact that knife crime had been rife for decades.
Have a nice holiday mate I'll still be here talking real talk when you get back. If your opinion is that it's crap then good luck to you. As the saying goes, you can give donkeys carrots but they'll still eat wood.

P.s. anyone off the street could do a better job that BJ at running the country. Many of them have ideas which could solve a multitude of issues. But sadly, just like yourself and others on here, BJ or any politician is very unlikely to listen because they do not have the capacity to see beyond their noses and accept that others may well have the answers.

Like I said, Murdoch hasn't lost an election yet.

Sadly there are too many unintelligent people around the world that don't have capacity to what's right in front of them, they just lap it up.
Are you sure?

This action cannot be undone.
