Hi guys. I have Delkims Txi Plus and I must admit that the remote range is simply terrible. It is enough to hide behind a tree or cover an antenna with your palm to receive no beeps. I was thinking about upgrading to Txi-D but I must be sure that the range was improved massively. E.g.: even of I am 200 meters away from my alarms, behind the trees and bushes and the antenna is covered with my hand - I should not miss a single beep. Could someone perform such a test?

I did do a test when I first got mine, with the rods brought in I got my dad to pull the line to make the delkim beep. I did this at different ranges and begind different obstacles. At one point I was about 150 yards away behind a tree on the other side of some reeds and it still picked it up, definitely improved the receiver I had the same problems as you with the older ones, although I never actually go any further than about 20ft from my rods when I'm actually fishing

I think the ‘range' term is used loosely in my opinion , a range of 500m will give you a very strong signal at close range in between terrain etc... at the other end a 150m range could be useless with terrain in the way , manufacturers have only the measurement of metres to go by , measuring terrain isn't easy

Yea but no, what about when I have to go to work or the pub for dinner and a few scoops? Surely this is what remotes are for.

The scenario is simple. I need to go to dump some **** to a small cabin which is situated 200m away from a place where I fish. I cannot **** closer. I do not want to miss a beep then. What is more I had a situation when my receiver was 20m away and it did not pick the signal. I just heard my reel during carp run. I need to be absolutely sure that new Delkims are perfect in that matter.

Then the answer is also simple. Reel in, go ****, then go put your rods back out.

The thread has gone from reliable range whilst fishing to satellite communication.

When 200 meters away from your rods becomes the norm.
Delkim will rise to the challenge and figure out a way to add GPS to the alarms and receiver.

On the other hand with all the mobile high tech available to us now:
Just ask Siri where your rods are :-)

Anyone know why my txi-d reciever keeps blinking. The 2nd LED is blinking once every minute or so

Is it something you have switched on by mistake range tester maybe
