Oh you can question it alright. Just not out loud or to anybody that's read the same articles and come to a different conclusion.
Anybody would think science wasn't the practice of discussing a theory and going about proving it right or wrong in practice. If a civil servant's computer says 2 million cases and 3000 hospitalisations a day who are doctors to argue?
