I was in Browns Leighton Buzzard last week and the guy in there was telling a customer looking at the Kaizens that they are a Longbow blank....

If that is true which i very much doubt it is and it is longbow blank it makes a mockery of them saying they were 5 years in the making of the brand new blank.

Even then Daiwa have used their Magnum Taper design on the Longbow blanks, and produced that range with Danny Fairbrass.
It would just be an updated carbon.
Sounds like advertising being used to con the public again...

Sounds like a bit of speculation to me, I have no idea what a Longbow Blank is like, anyone compared the two and got an opinion?

Japanese shrink grip handle with flared butt
Daiwa Longbow as per Daiwa:
Seaguide TDG guides are lighter in weight than the traditional ceramic guides with enhanced performance. The guides have a larger internal diameter size for size with ceramic guides which means line can travel faster through them when casting. The guides also offer greater sensitivity and feel plus they have a special adaman coating which also increases the performance.

Those guides are cheap to buy and bend very easily I changed them on a set of kaizens ( 3 rods ) for a mate whilst he was testing the rods .

The longbow blanks must have improved over the years, the old man had a set of the original 2 3/4 test ones and they had the action of a wet noodle.

In the lower test curves I wouldn't know, I have an old set of Longbow DF's I've had since new that are 14/15 years old now in 12' 3.5 test which I bought for distance rods back then from memory they were around £150 a pop for comparison obviously now they have the stainless TDR guides and X45 weave and 15 years of inflation to add to the cost, they will still send a 3 1/2 oz lead out to around 130/140yards which is about my capabilities, they recover well enough even after all these years, not my favorite rods but they do a job when I need them.
