The amount of times I have been to a show and within the month a local tackle shop gets a large purchase from me after seeing or trying something at the show, or I buy a few bits and pieces at the show.
Sleeping bags, Bedchairs, pods, rods, line, bait and deals on gas canisters are all things I've bought. Come to that even the Lee Valley Fisheries stall was interesting talking to the staff.
I miss 5Lakes, both working on stands and as a punter, although buying a coffee at the bar was a 'No no'.
It's a shame when these things get cancelled, both long term and last minute.
I hope the Northern Show is a success

I saw a video of it on facetube yesterday and it looked cramped with very little aisle room. Also another guy complaining that it was £10 to park his car.
I was really hoping this show would get back to its pre-covid best but im not convinced this venue is the long term answer.
Another reason to have a big show at the NEC again instead.

Truly terrible.
I got to the venue at 8am this morning to be told there's no car parking mate....then across the road some enterprising local scallys had erected signs at the next turn off for car parking.
After finding out the cheeky monkeys were charging £10 to park on the street I gave that a swerve and parked one street down for free.
Walking into the show behind 2 or three people reeking of ganja I arrived at the doors.
Very small show
No bargains to be had
Nothing new
Too dark inside so you couldn't see what was on display properly.
I was in...walked round the show twice and was home within the hour.
If your thinking of going please don't...go fishing instead.

I concur with most of this. Parking wasn't great at all.
Show was small but most of the major players were there. The Nash stand was impressive and they had the full team there. Jules was a lovely fella to talk too and very helpful as was most “well known” anglers.
Nothing really new (apart from new solar bivvy) which looks very good. Also not many bargains to be had, some but not many.
Good to see the new RT7 bait boat and Korda net in the flesh, that net is superb,!!
