Not really the case is it? More and more places are using the same ideas of these places until eventually carp fishing will be only available to those with very deep pockets similar to your salmon fishing or expensive golf courses, places where your normal working class type chap will be excluded from simply down to money.

It doesn't have to be that blinkered though. And you are wrong to put all in the same bracket.
There is nothing synthetic about Grenville, you don't pre-book swims and as Joss has already said, it may be a "new" fishery with comfortable swims and have a large head of (non-Iranian, English bread) fish but it is far from easy. It also has some very experienced and highly respected, anglers on the syndicate.....anglers who are members of the BCSG no less who also spend their time fishing ponds originally designed by Capability Brown.
As Joss said each to their own, I personally couldn't care less where you or anyone else casts a line, doesn't mean i don't care about the heritage or indeed future of Carp fishing.

One of my dogs is a rescue that has been taught to chase things from a young age, it's now hardwired into him and looses his mind when I cast out constantly/spodding etc, so it's a case of managing that inbuilt frenzy = baitboat. Would rather not use one, just a case of being more relaxing not having a dog seriously loosing his s4it or other anglers having to put up with a mental dog screeching.

Deep down, you know I'm right however hard you try and ignore the blindingly obvious.
If you wanna fish these sorts of venues, I'll certainly not stop you, all I'll ever do is highlight the reality and where it all will lead to.

So Grenville, Wraysbury, Horton Church...The ‘noddy' waters in your book, you wouldn't even be able to fish anyway because you can't use a bait boat?! No wonder you have such a chip about them.
Are there even any decent waters that do allow bait boats? I thought it was only french lakes and day tickets.

You have to take your hat off to Paul (whilst he can be a very difficult chap at times) he had the foresight to obtain a large pit and fence it pre the otter popularity and predation problems we face today.
I bet that any lake owner that wants to be successful and keep their valuable stock alive wishes they did the same as Grenville before now.
Small lakes, large lakes be it of whatever ones choice to fish will have suffered if not fenced to the cost of the owner, members etc.
