Imo you would be better off with the crosscast 35... I considered the emblem before the crosscast and for the extra money it wasn't worth it... I've had zero trouble with line going behind the spool on the crosscasts

I've been using the Emblem 23 45SCW for a year now and never had line go behind the spool once. Assume it must only be a problem on the 35 model?
Was considering getting a set of Crosscast 35's myself for a set of lighter rods.

Have you had any issues with the bail arms on them,ive heard they are quite flimsy and bend easily

The Crosscasts are cracking reels for the money. I have an older set of 35's, some newer 45's and the spod reel. No issues with any of them and just as robust as the 19 Emblems.

I've come from a 5500 XTD and a 14000 XTE.
I now have three 23 Emblem Big Pit 35 SCW QD reels and find them 100% better than the Shimano reels. The line guard on the Shimano reel is just crap, and I've had the line get caught behind the spool several times.
Personally I find big pits like the 14000/45 too big, the 35 is ideal for me in terms of size and on the spare spool you can put 0.35 mm/530 meters
I also tried the Okuma Obsedian but I can't get used to the spool sound and found the control during the drill much too aggressive compared to the 23 35 SCW QD

Nope, they've been flawless. I did however upgrade them with folding handles, purely for easier pack ups, not for stupidly narrow buzzer bar fishing lol. Reckon they're the best reels I've ever had and the nicest to use. That said, I've never owned Basias or Techniums.
