Quite possibly, if they know what it is you're suffering from. Not one our health service is very aware of - that's the main reason.

Wait til people start to lose access to their favourite stretch of water when one of these creatures mysteriously appear ..laws and legislation will soon sharpen peoples love for them then.
I think peoples perceptions of the beaver will change then,even more so when the dams cause property damage..etc.
It's a different world now,not 450 ,500 years ago when they were in evidence..
Time will tell...whatever next Henk cattle roaming free,calling for the motherland...lol

A lot of people are going to be very angry when uber hamster,rocks up in a cage from Bavaria or Scotland via a white van,following a blaze of media publicity,lol...then they can't fish their little piece of heaven any more..
I sussed it months ago..
People should well remember,when I joined this forum,I got vilified,rude pms you name it,..I told the angling community what was going on,...re the otter...I tried to help,pass on my knowledge ...no one believed me..
All based on seeing,photographs, collation,speaking and learning, 30 years !!

One thing I've noticed with all these do-gooders is – They are never ever wrong, not once have I ever heard one say “Sorry we got it wrong” or “We have made a mistake” , even when it's blatantly obvious their actions have caused a disaster.
It will be just the same with Beavers.

Beaver fever is real, but it's nothing like leptospirosis, it certainly won't be a hospital job.
Green diarrhoea for a week to 10 days shorter if medicated.
Got a mate in Canada who got it with his son through swimming near beavers

Hi Jon, at the moment in the UK it's so unknown that they do go into hospital until someone works it out. I work in the NHS and we had one in our hospital a few months back. I can't comment on other symptoms or reasons for admission but this is as it was told to me.

That's interesting, maybe I'm wrong. I was under the impression it caused an intestine infection that wasn't too serious and easily fixed.

It's hard to be outraged about the re-introduction of a species we hunted to extinction, just in case they damage the man made habitat. Really cant see it negatively affecting any carp lakes, apart from those that flood anyway, and besides - they are an imported, invasive species anyway.

As long as its done with some thought.
Remember the do gooders releasing all those mink, with no idea about eco systems and the effects.
Its like releasing 150 native americans into Chicago and expecting them to just go on as they were before.
