Yeah that's why I held out and why I won't bother I think,

I use Basiair, Basia 19, 20 on different rod set for different situations,
best daiwa basia reels are in my opinion:
1 Basiair
2 Basia 20
3 Basia 19
and yes penn are very good, but basiair is 440 gr, penn 7000 is 680 gr.
basiair is thing of beauty, each its own taste.

Like I said not had the Basiair but I have had the original iso,the 19scw,sld and now the 20scw.

Jesus, I wish I had your disposable income.
The best reels I've owned are not daiwa so I won't sully the thread by mentioning them. You crack on with your hobby. Each to their own.

Why would I BS, happy to stake my life on the conversation that I had I can't guarantee it was sound advise just that I was told to go for the tourneys. I've known of two situations where the spindle bent on the cast with the original basia and a friend has trashed his basiars in 7 years for me thats really important my original set of gold Emblems are still in use after ten years of me having them. As for shims sadly the 10000XTs where the best they made and no available parts for them the mags have just gone from decent to scrap as far as another friend is concerned.
