You missed my point. They dont have a secret bait or liquid. They're just very accurate and methodical about what they do. But that isnt something you can sell.

I don't believe that's that much of an edge to increase fish numbers by that much!

Of course it is. They fish lakes with big packs of fish. Your guy who caught 4 fish hadn't t narrowed down his spot, and wasted time between fish.
The likes of tom maker as soon as the fish is in the net, a fresh rig is back on the exact spot with 3 spombs exactly over the top, in the same amount of time your guy with the 4 fish was struggling to put his waders on so he could get the net oit of the water easier.
Its match style fishing, truly exhausting, like the likes of bob nudd catapulting out pellets whilst still playing a fish on the pole to keep the pack there, never a second wasted.

I just used that as an example between the average guy and the big hitters. I do agree some people become lazy when hitting big fish numbers but we all aim to be accurate and consistent but that doesn't mean the difference between 4 fish and 40 IMO.

Have you seen the underwater article he did 3 rods less than 10 inches between them on the bottom if you can get your feed tight over the top that will increase your catch rate as you have them competing on a much smaller area making them easier to catch. In term of liquid he uses I would guess liquidised worm

I saw it at Farlows recently, the owner and the two that won the carp competition had 40 fish using their bait boat from swim 3...
Then 2 people using a bait boat and dropping bait in exactly the same spot moved in... They had 1 fish in 2 days..
It does make you wonder.. :0)

Not really.
You cant just move into a swim after someone else has bagged up and expect to do the same.
Look at what tom Maker does, he will have a big hit of fish from a swim, and when it slows up, will follow the fish round the lake.
If you think its anything other than hard work and experience, im afraid you'll always be searching for that magic pill that doesnt exist.

I wouldn't say a wonder bait but I reckon there are things out there that fish will respond too to eat or turn them on to feed? Iff 100 people are doing the same thing and they are changing it up slightly by adding something into the mix?

If it was that simple the the Koi and vetinary industry would know all about it, not some stinky man in a green tent.

Agreed, sometimes it's just easier to accept the fact that he's a very, very good angler, fishing the right methods on the right waters.

You don't think vets use appetite stimulators...hmm interesting, so you wouldn't believe in non prescription, amino acid based formulations for just that purpose? We have a bottle of it in our fridge which is used for our IBD suffering pooch when nearly everything else fails.
