Teachers do not set the policy mate. Its not a wimps job.
Conservatives have been in power for 12 years. Anyway . Its always been like this. A tiny % bully and a tinyb% get bullied. And everyone else knows nothing about it.

I get your point there, but karate is a broad spectrum, every club is different and the styles they teach is also different.
Goju ryu is more practical than shotokan early on (imo)
Krav maga would be my pick for instant ability, but from the ops initial post I thought karate would be a gentler lead in to that world.

It's a form of mixed martial arts developed by Israeli special forces. Quite similar to karate in a sense but a faster learning cycle and a bit more focus on finishing it quickly.
I've screwed my knees up so can't do any now but I loved martial arts,

Ok Krav. But if done correctly again and after quite a while it would be bloody overkill for a little girl.
And its so ****y and macho in some places. Loads of proper ****ers flexing at being trainers. Place near me some pot bellied **** that wears full fatigues and teaches it. A local guy from the boxing gym dumped him on his arse right off the bat. This was about 6 years ago. It may be a bit better policed now but.....
I wouod start with established Olympic full contact sports.

Taekwando
Wrestling

I know Paul, I'm really referring to the system not just the teachers, That said it's a well known fact that most teachers are Left Wing both in the school system and the uni system.

The governing party has no relevance, the system is infested with Lefties come what may, it was when i was at school it was when my children were at school and it's the same today in the school my wife works in, that covers roughly 50 years. Thankfully 99% of pupils dont take a Left Wing path later in life.
As for bullying, the saddest thing a child can live through apart from the death of a parent

Lol there's a club near me like that, I had a similar experience with a tool of an instructor. Winded for ten minutes by pretty much the first kick any kid in karate will be taught, when he knew when and where it was going and was about to demonstrate why karate is useless
Lots of good clubs but hard to filter them now in the Instagram age

99% was a generalization, in retrospect too high
Swap 99% to majority.
Loads of kids leave school and uni with Lefty tendencies, they start earning a good living and suddenly they aren't so Lefty
