'Why no vents?'
Ive only had a few bivvies over the years where they had these, and i never used them. On the shelters that didnt have then, i never felt i needed some. If its that hot i wont take a shelter and will stick a mozzie mesh on a storm rod over the head end of my bedchair.
As mere man mentions, a tempest the size of a 55/50 inch brollie would be ideal. given the extra head room (no boss as on traditional brollie) this would be perfect for me.
I love the mechanism, stability, the fact it is free standing, light and compact (if stripped down) when packed. I have found it too big for some swims i fish, where i can wedge my Low Pro in, or previously my 50inch brollie.
Unfortunately i realise this is a small part of the market, but a shelter with the modern design of the tempest, kept simple but with a smaller size to the existing tempests would be great (for some of us obviously! but those who wan a larger shelter are very well catered for these days).

I think vents should be on all shelters these days, just to give the user the option. If you don't want to use them, then don't. As for size, as I just said I don't get it regarding the brolly as it squeezes down to a similar footprint to a 55" brolly. Maybe the v2 is different but I know my old v1 squeezed down to be tiny

what about the nash hide ? isnt that the sort of thing ?

New Tempest... sounds like the slow boat from China has docked.. might now be able to get a groundsheet for one..

I agree I find my tempest v2 a bit big 55 inch would be a good size I don't think I would use rear vents either it doesn't get that hot at night in the summer my mates got rear vents and they have all torn the hide size looks good but I would never buy anything Nash
