Hell of a result although I'm not surprised. I used to fish it over little beds of trouties and just couldn't fail.. I wonder what made it so good?

Talking of peperami, has anyone tried the peperami double crunch peanuts as a hookbaits only.. Seems carp are rather partial to a peanut and the added peperami spices could be a winner

Use bread paste for bottom bait fishing. Take the soft inner out of a crust and mould it until a paste. I used add other stuff to it too like Shiphams crab paste or a tiny bit on tinned salmon and juice, tried cheese etc too. Best left to ferment in the fridge overnight. Anything for an edge
If your using it for float fishing you need to mould it around the shank of a large hood and ensure the point is left sticking out

I hair rig a 1 cm square of crust on a short hooklength and a simple running ledger set up for bottom fishing. The bread has a natural bouyancy like a pop up. Works a treat in the margins.
Alternatively a longer hooklength with a controller float to take them off the top.
Pound for pound, bread has to be the best bait there is.

I have found the red one to be by far the best. Fish a small trimmed hookbait (skin removed) with a mesh bag of tiny pellets and little pepperami chops

Remember it does become buoyant after being in the water after longer spells

I tried it once, had an unbelievable days fishing and then couldn't find it again. Thought I was the only one who'd tried it!
Thinking about trying some of the spicy cheeses out there. Must be similar and I remember a guy bagging up on cubes of cheese on a local lake once.

Mexicana cheese and a slice of chorizo. There's your tip of the day right there.

When they stopped doing it we tried any number of variant, cheddar cubes, cheese strings were good, them little cheese taster thrings Tesco does, but none were like cheesey pepperami, the outside used to ooze and create like a cheesey halo around the bait. Must have tasted crap for them to stop producing it but it what a few years they were
