I've been in the market for a new shelter for ages and this could definitely tick a few boxes!
Trakker has just said in the comments on Facebook that there isn't any plans to make a overwrap for it, I would of got one but I fish all year round even in the coldest of winters I prefer having a overwrap especially to help with the condensation

I only ever use the Skull cap on my bivvy but use it all year round as it keeps it much cooler in the heat and winter stops most of the condensation

But I've found with the nylon material without a full wrap the condensation is awful even with a skull cap, also the skull cap doesn't help with warmth at all I find. If they bring out a overwrap I'll 100% buy it until then don't think so

why wouldnt they ? plenty of people bought the previous models without a front lightweight fast erect shelter the Air sold well

This is a lot taller than the air tho is it not? So when it rains with a bit of wind the rain will make it a lot further back, so the front is going to be needed more often than not.
And light weight is a bit of a stretch, even in these days of 15kg brollies

Sounds good value for money and appears they're not pulling anybody's pants down, bearing in mind it comes with the rear vents as standard.
I've looked into having a couple of vents put in my V2 and that would work out dearer.
Watching with interest. I love my V2 but it can be a pain diving out of it when the action starts... yeah right!!
How does the width stand up to the V2??? It doesn't look as wide.
Edit. Just checked. Same width, 5cm deeper.
Tempted.

I'll be getting one of these I'm pretty sure I can make my V1 overwrap think of a fashion by fastening longer elastics to already fixed pegging points even by attaching elastic to the fitted elastic if you know what I mean lol

What it really needs is a lightweight inner capsual to give you the second skin and the the skull cap to give you a third skin as added insurance if you want it.
I think this is the way forward for bivvy and brolly design. If you think about it most tents have had an outer and an inner design for as long as I can remember. Why? because it works.
I have been used tents in the field like this for years down to below minus conditions. Yes, you still get a bit of condensation, but nothing you cant live with in my humble opinion.
What it really needs is a lightweight inner capsual to give you the second skin and the the skull cap to give you a third skin as added insurance if you want it.

I agree I think for around £400 all in
its not a bad price and will be preferred by a lot of people over the Cyprinus Typhoon as its got decent doorway height and will appeal to a lot of people
as has been shown with the Hide XL

I disagree. Add as many layers to a bivvy as you want but brollies are supposed to be lightweight. This trend of adding layers and manufacturing from heavier duty materials just adds weight which for me avoids the point of a brolly.

We will have to agree to disagree on that one.
With a clip in inner and skull cap. You then have an all year round system.
Open brolly for the good weather. Inner capsual for the not so good days and skull cap to baton down the hatches. Admittedly the current skull cap needs a redeign to go further down the sided of the brolly. But that's not hard to implement.
It can still be lightweight as is the main brolly now. Inner capsual and skull are not going to add tons of weight.
Just my opinion though.

I wouldnt class the tempest as a brolly. It's a shelter And a well designed shelter. I agree a brolly is and should be light weight. I'd rather the tempest be heavier and well made than light and flimsy.
