Hi Megs,
Problem is I have to carry the boat and all the gear through a pretty rough terrain to get there. And that boat, weighing only 15 lbs can carry 850 lbs so it won't be overloaded.
But 9 foot rods is something to consider.

Yes, it's a bit to lug around, but slowly learning to cut down.

Have any of you guys watched some of Joe Robinet's stuff on YouTube? Guy does some amazing canoe trips in Canada and fishes for pike etc. to feed himself as he goes. Really shows how gear can be used properly when everything has his purpose and he's carrying everything and a canoe on his back when he's trecking through woods etc.

He is crazy, and I wished I had his courage and daring. Personally, this guy inspired me to get out of my comfort zone. I wasn't a big fan of fishing or camping, but since I watched his adventure, I told my wife, darling, let's buy a canoe and do some crazy stuff too because we have lived a boring life till now. We used to travel abroad, eating in good restaurants, sleeping in hotels, and having Italian breakfast.
So, we consulted many blogs in search of gears and places. Thankful for discovering Outdoor Life Cafe, here we got all the information needed for buying the necessary stuff. Now, are one year adventure couple, that trying to discover all beautiful places of Orlando.
