Agreed but you have to go food shopping or most do, you dont have to go fishing.

Agreed NM. There is a non essential travel ban. Angling is not on the essential travel list. I'd take the cards off anyone found angling during this period. Show's you're a chancer and no loss to the water.

The thing is when rules are set they have to be for everyone or it will be chaos. Can you imagine the government putting into measures to sort out the biggest crisis this country's seen since ww2 and boris addressing the nation and saying “right outdoor sports are ok as long as you promise, hand on heart, not to be naughty and get too close to anyone, now off you go and be good”
Maybe they should apply this logic to all our other laws as well. How about “we've changed the law on drink driving, if you're a big bloke and you've had a decent curry then you'll probably be alright, so crack on”
On the point about people dying anyway. This has given me the proper hump. My god daughter is 23, she was my bridesmaid and unfortunately she was born with some health issues meaning that if she gets a lung infection she has breathing difficulties. She's needed a lot of operations during her short life. But she is otherwise ok. Today I received news that she is in isolation in hospital. If she contracts covid19 make no mistake it will kill her. But according to some on here, she's just a statistic and so somehow she doesn't count. I will be sure to phone her terrified parents and tell them not to worry as she was probably gonna die anyway. I'm sure that will be great comfort to them. There's some people on here that should take a very long look at themselves and put themselves in other people's shoes for five minutes.

I would usually agree that we may not agree and its fine to agree to disagree. Perhaps you would agree that there are times when it is not alright to disagree. The current lethal pandemic being one of those times. Let's agree to agree that if not doing what we want to do, but doing what we must do to save even one life is the only thing to do. Fishing is none essential, full stop.

You and I may be perfectly safe and sensible going fishing and observing the guidelines, and it may seem unreasonable to you, but it's not about us, it's about the other guys.
The minority of idiots who will flout the rules and risk spreading the virus.
Then if fishing was allowed, then rough shooters, bird watchers, country walkers, beach combers, wildlife watchers etc. will all insist on doing their thing. Then you have a recipe for chaos.
Unfortunately, rules have to be based on the lowest common denominator.

100% agree, this is so true everyone thinks it won't effect them or there families. Until it does then it's all I wish I never done this or that. Can't believe some companies are still open offering bait. Please stay at home, it's crap we know but it will save lives and we can get back to normality quicker.

I'm sticking to the rules,but then again I wonder how many accidents there has been in the home with many self isolating..im the worlds worse for falling down the stairs.and thats sober..
