All seems plausible.

Also there is a drug that appears to be favourable for trials and has helped a very old man with underlying health issues to a full recovery if reports are to be believed.

Its an old drug that's well used to treat rheumatoid arthritis patients and a side effect Is that it stops the body sending fluid to the lungs..🤞🤞

There are a number of drugs that are used to treat viruses, but all of them are to treat symptoms and problems caused by the virus and they can be valuable in keeping a person alive while their immune system fights the virus. If it wins you live, if it loses you die. There is not a single drug that will kill a virus in your system. We can do it with bacterial infection using antibiotics that kill bacteria.
There is a lot of crossover between cancer and viral research, some cancers being linked to viruses. This is the holy grail and it has still not been found. No wonder drug exists. Wish it did. Best case is a safe and fully effective vaccine as fast as possible

Don't worry the tax payers will pick up the bill, they won't notice given they are liable for billions already. Most will have read it in the news stories, those who haven't won't bother anyway

I'm sure the paramedics know where it is and if you're either dying or leaving after treatment what good is ****ing signage!?

The drug I posted seems to prevent the current pneumonia complications associated with the current high mortality rate. 👍👎

The Government wouldn't be building new hospitals and sourcing ventilators to cope with 10's of thousands of critically ill patients unless they had expert opinion from leading virologists that they would be needed. The worst of this will probably be in a week to two weeks time, but then surely it will flair up again if the relax the isolation guidelines?

Personally I think anyone found ignoring the guidelines should have their details taken and entered onto a database, if they susequently get ill and there is a shortage of ventilators they shouldn't get one.

I think this will be an issue for months to come. Yes if you are in good health then it shuldn't be a major problem but there is no guarantee of that. Personally I have two members of my immediate family that will probably die if they get it.

I read that the flu strain that came in around the time of beast from the east killed 50000 but didn't really get much media attention or panic. If this happened in the 80's I doubt we would be in lockdown.

Personally I think in the long term there will be more in indirect deaths from this - depression, alcoholism, drug use, suicide.

It will be interesting to see how Sweden come out of this who have adopted a slightly different approach to other European countries.

Not disagreeing with what you said but I feel the only immediate response from all of us should be to do the simple things we have been asked. There will be no instant solution to this. If the scientific community hit the jackpot, great. But until then simple, dull and boring will get it done. Like winter fishing.

Has Sweden adopted a different approach or are they just a week or two behind us and 4 weeks or so behind Italy, only time will tell.

I notice that RH Fisheries have kept the syndicates open by the use of crafty wording in their announcement:

Syndicates: They will remain open to members, because the government have said you can visit your local park for exercise. Therefore, I am happy for the members to visit the fisheries for their exercise as an alternative to parks if you wish to.

There will be far less people present and you can enjoy the fresh air on your own.
