Or whitby jet and pewter.....
The handles specifically the grips are the only downside I can see. If your only fishing with nice neat baiys and in the warm wether they should be fine.
Wood is more than aesthetic its a tactile material unlike these foam and pladtic horrors out now.
Reels should be black maybe grey is ok and all this bling on them now is asking for trouble in the long run.
I think defiant has hit the nail on the head with the costing of them.
Sod it next time ive cash spare im having some and ill sort nice rosewood handles on em. As for new cars and wood er bently etc have wood not fiesta plastic mind you mine has fabric not plastic as its a special car

I don't get what everyone thinks is wrong with the handles? They are black like the rest of the reel. Look good to me.
Please tell me it isn't because you want to fold up the handles while the rods are on the rests....?

Should be more cencerned about them bars and sticks than the reel handles, oh and a polarizing lens wouldn't go a miss with that line.

I am getting a set latter on. They do look spot on to be fair.
After shopping around yesterday for a while I have found a shop that is selling them 3 for £300 (same as hull angling who have now sold out)

It's all Pruster's fault. If he hadn't posted that first pic with the Daiwa handles then people may have been happy with the factory black/rubber efforts.
Given the two small retaining screws holding the reel handles on, I can't imagine it's much effort to pop these off. You'd just have to find the correct bore wooden handle and maybe centre spindle bit.
Eric's sold these for £95 each on their big Friday sale day

These handles are actually very well made , because I changed mine I have dismantled one and that little cover exposes the shaft and thats it,the handle is moulded around it with a shrink rubber coating on top, the only way I can see to remove the handle is to cut the shaft off and try and press what remains out of its housing but I think you will damage the actual handle.
