No the virus isn't sentient, Jon. But it is a living virus programmed to reproduce by any means necessary.
I'm questioning things, that is science. If even top doctors and scientists don't really understand covid, then with all due respect I switch off when people dictate rather than discuss. I thought this was a forum, not the vaccine appreciation society. That's not aimed at you, it's a generalisation about the thread.
Interestingly my cold that made my taste disappear has gone but I now have a stinker making me sneeze and get snotty. I'm doing a Wayne

I remember the same lesson.
I used a white board and successive groups of stick men in a very morbid family tree type affair ..
And braders, if I was your teacher you'd be in the corner with a hat with a big 'd' on it - which wouldn't stand for dunce...

Noj I 100% get why you are not having the jab because of family medical history, but why wouldn't you do a test?
Correct me if I'm wrong but are you a tradesman going in and out of peoples houses everyday ?

That's right. Same as I was when the country was locked down and there was no vaccine

So in theory you could have it, go to some old girls house, or not even someone old but someone who has cancer, immunosuppressed etc and unknowingly give it to them

Sort of mate. I'm generally doing higher end joinery projects between a workshop and site. So I may see a housekeeper, nanny or interior designer but rarely any little old women
I do talk to a lot of people though including the owners and the general consensus is that people have had enough. These millionaires etc have been doing what the hell they want the whole time anyway..
And no I can't have a week off, I wish I could but there's no chance

I don't consider myself any more of a risk than others are to me mate. I'm 100% open about my vaccine status with anybody who wants to know.
On the whole everybody I come into contact with through work is very blasé about covid and only limit their contact before a flight.
And yes, as heartless as it sounds my kids eating and not falling behind on the bills is my only priority. There was little concern for my welfare when others were paid to stay home and I had to work, I won't ever get the bitter taste of that and mortgage holidays out of my mouth.
I put my partner and kids at risk every day to make ends meet, often being forced to reduce prices while material costs escalated along with my other outgoings.
I'm up against it big time and really couldn't care less about anybody but the 3 people who depend on me

I've seen lots of infections over the past week or so, and another good indicator of level of infection is the premier league. Their behaviour and testing level has been quite consistent throughout so they are a good indicator. Infections are up massively there also.
If deaths stay low for the next couple of weeks I think this could be a real good sign of omicron being a milder disease.

I think the premier league players are lower percentage wise when it comes to vaccination figures. And a very high rate of infection over the last week or so...
Definitely an increase in positive tests at school but it also seems the students are less unwell generally speaking so the narrative about the new strain being more infectious but less severe rings true. Still very disruptive to learning though

The highest in the Premier league was a week in January at 40 positives with over 2000 tests taken.The positive results was beaten last week at 42 positive results but over 3000 tests were taken.Im sure if they had tested more in January it would have been higher than 42 but who knows
