I got told about a story from a well known angler doing a few day sessions on the river Severn. Couldn't catch anything and the lad next door was bagging up.
They politely asked if they can let the angler play the next fish he hooks to make the video.
Over the last few years after seeing a few well known anglers around lakes you soon realise there not as good or as professional as they may seem in videos.
I also don't have any praise for those anglers who spend 7 days a week on a lake catch the biggen and get patted on the back. Thats not fishing that's inevitable

There's a couple on my lake, they've had most of the bigguns and still fish it for free and disrupt other paying members fishing.

Makes me laugh how some (not all) of the full timers lord it around the place. Like making 20K a year selling your soul to social media to sit by a lake full time is something that should be respected

Been there done that. 17k a year or 40k with pension and doing what I want? Tough choice
. Sadly though a lot of kids now would prefer the former, and would rather be within the flaps of an oval, than the flaps of a 6/10 with DD's

The sweet spot....The golden ratio...
These kids need to get their priorities straight while they are young. A 6/10 21 year old is a much better prospect than a 6/10 49 year old. Get the good stuff while you can, don't waste your Saturday's fishing!

I heard many years ago of a pike video that wasn't quite what it seemed. All the chat and tactics were covered in a day but there one thing missing..,, a fish! The angler fished it hard for several days and when he caught one, the camera crew were called back to complete the shoot!

Martin has written that someone has said they created the clip and that he's taking legal action. Whether or not that's the case is for others to decide.

Yeah, but those perch are something else when you fish for them with worms, that's bound to go wrong no matter how hard you try to avoid it. Been there as a kid also, and not just once.
