Agreed - ESP tubing is excellent and good colours too.

Without an underwater camera (and unless fishing on a flat featureless table) I'm not sure any tubing / leader / mainline ever lies completely flat; think this idea is a bit of a fallacy as even an assumed 'good' surface has twigs/pebbles/chod to create micro undulations . . .

I'm sure I remember reading one angler would cut the tubing into small sections so that it would follow the undulations of the lake bed more effectively? Might be worth a go?
