I tend to sleep on my side most of the time don't know If certain beds suit side sleeper and others suit those that sleep on their backs. Liking the design of the lumbar support I see the new Avid benchmark ultra that is due out in November has gone down the same route

Have tried both over the years but much prefer a separate bag & bedchair. Had a Nash SS4 system std width and although im hardly a chunk it was so restrictive it was claustraphobic, and the bed itself nearly destroyed my back despite para cording the underside 
. Separates obv give you the option of chopping and changing.. can be costly but when you find the right combo

My techlite has been thrown about on my bed and it still looks brandnew,I was worried the material and hoods would not take much abuse but it really does.Its the best bag I've owned on the best bed I've owned

I've had the Gardner bag for a few years and would say it's ok, but nothing more.
Pros..
Waterproof camo outter
Good size without being too tight, I'm 5-10
Fleece free, so no getting caught up when moving around
Cons..
Biggest one for me, the bag only comes up to your chin, I've always had bags that could cover your face.
Definitely not a 5 season and you'll need a thermal cover on it come winter
The thin thermal blanket inside is held in by cheap attachments and not a zip.
Zips aren't great.
Had to cut out the annoying and uncomfortable baffle that goes along where your neck is.
The 2 velcro pockets.. pointless as there too small and tight to actually get anything in.

Cannot rate the Solar CH08 bedchair highly enough. It is incredibly comfortable, no sag and just right in the firmness levels. I got mine for £150 so you can get a good deal on it if you shop around. I have a trakker duotexx sleeping bag on mine meaning I don't have to zip layers in and out as the seasons change. I know many people rate the sleep systems but from experience I can assure you they are not as warm as a separate bag on a bedchair!

Duotexx is 5kg and the 365 is 6kg - by the looks the duotexx is being faded out as most places are out of stock. So my guessing is the 365 replaced it

I've narrowed my bedchair search down to The Fox R1/R2 camo bedchair, Wychwood Comforter bedchair and the Solar tackle Bedchair CH08 or if I need to spend a bit more the Trakker levelite lumbar and Solar SP C tech. Benefits of the fox and Wychwood and Trakker are slightly wider and longer than the Solar but knowing Solar theirs will be much better made and last longer. I tend to sleep on my side or front so wondering which would suit my 18-19 stone lump of a frame the most. Also apart from the Wychwood being as cheap as £120 atm the moment the other beds are similar in price apart from the Trakker and Solar SP. so that doesn't matter too much however weight of bed and bag together will matter as I sold my Nash ss3 wide due to it being too heavy and bulky and don't want to end up with same

The solar sp c tech bed is quite heavy but I put the fortis bag on to keep overall weight down and love it.The other solar bed gets very good feedback too 👍

I'm a side sleeper too and the CH08 is great. I found it much firmer than my previous trakker bedchair but it has solved the back ache I was getting every morning!👍

Hated my Nash ss3. Got a Trakker rlx 6 super lite when they first come out and use an acu sleep system bag on top. Great set up, nice and comfy and about as light as your going to get

Sleep systems for me are a bit like the old TV/VHS combo, one part fails you lose both and that is one reason they've never appealed to me.
I use the standard size Wychwood Tactical X because it is light, with and Exped Megamat10 sim and Fortis Snugpak bag, very comfortable and both fold up in the bed.
