Used the Solar brolly a few times now. No issues, up in seconds and none of the issues that some (well a couple) other users have had.
It's a brolly, goes up and down like a brolly, not sure what else you would want it to do?
Has been mentioned that the storm poles do not align to add the pole that goes across the front rib. Sort of agree with that but as you don't really need the pole, it's not really an issue for me.
Also the small poles for the sides. Tight as #*ck but you know what? Poles bend and it was just a case of bending them in. Again, you don't have to use them.
Haters are gonna hate though.

Putting it up in garden as we all know is a bit different on the bank
no nothing about it really
I've actually used it a few times on the bank i bought this brolly few months ago trying to collapse it is a nightmare also bits missing it's just a run of the mill brolly nothing special tbh I only bought it as I was told on here it was a 55 when it came I was disappointed it was a 60 far to big for my needs

Out of interest Aidey, do you want said bivvy/brolly to fit in a quiver or are you just putting it on a barrow?
Not sure if that makes a difference to your options?

I really rate the solar spider compact. Been using it as a brolly all spring and summer and can then zip in the front and groundsheet through winter. It's a quality product from Solar, well made and at a decent price too!

Hi Cam,
The brolly usually comes with on the first walk round, chucked across my back which then makes the barrow push with the rest of the gear a lot easier and stable.
Thanks to everyone for their suggestions. I think the Tempest is top of the tree due to it's versatility at the moment. Ideal for overnighters AND a week in France with the kitchen sink if (god forbid) i'm ever sat in the same spot for seven days.

I've got the tempest brolly and cant fault it apart from it could be a bit higher (I could get the 100T)
I've also got the utility front which will easily fit 2 bedchairs in or make a comfy shelter for France with plenty of room.

I went to discount fishing tackle in Doncaster yesterday.
They have a very novel feature there...a bivvy city,
where they have literally set up and left probably 20 odd of the available bivvies on the market on their secure car park and just left them out there to the elements.
The ones which I would say were fairing the best were the Trakker aquatex versions and the fox frontier versions.
Most of everything else was varying degrees of faded not waterproof anymore garbage.

The old brown turning fox domes, went on forever
It's gone crazy for me, £500 plus tents and people are changing them as quick as their underpants, utter madness, for that money they should be getting 10 years out of them, another marketing hype and carp tax rip off

You're absolutely right, mate. But what is the alternative? You are nog going to buy a yellow or blue camping tent and use that for fishing are you?
I also hate what most brands are doing to the quality of tackle and then what they charge for it, but the options that are better quality aren't really there anymore. Just look at aqua
