If they are Korda fan boys they probably have only used Daiwa rods so would be happy with the new Daiwa/Korda rods.
So would never have tried Harrison or Century rods and experienced the difference.

I'm not even sure the fan boys are bothered what action or how they perform, aslong as they have the same rods as their hero's they're not bothered

Early 80s was even better everything was so simple they might be daiwa as the DF has been taken off the daiwa longbow

I was only 10 then and didnt really get into it until 1990. Just wish i could get the bug back that i had back then 😞

I have heard the longbow theory also, from someone who is as credible as they come. why would Daiwa choose to compete with and canabalize their own market share in top end rods?

Because they can shift a lot of their blanks to people that would have bought a FS/Century/Harrison/whatever??
Don't forget that they cost peanuts to make.

I've lost the bug too after 40 years carp fishing before that I would tench fish I spoke to a lot of people who feel the same
the tackle companies haven't helped with there rip off prices everywhere is rammed with expensive tickets a waiting list everywhere you look
So few years ago I moved on. To the rivers it's a different world there's chub a barbel but also big perch a roach which are stunning fish

Well perhaps you should take both to a tournament court and cast them side by side to see if you have the same opinion as him before spreading rumour. Had the 13ft 4lb TC longbow and kaizen with longbow same length and TC and the infinity 13ft 3.75tc together this week . The korda rod felt similar action to the longbow but beefed up a fair bit while the infinity will outcast both of them in the right hands. Hadn't cast the longbow before and thought it was a very nice easy to cast user friendly rod and would be nicer to play fish on than the infinity.

I tried the rivers as started fishing the trent but its a hell of a drive from northumberland and its becoming an even bigger circus than carp fishing down there these days. I loved my chub fishing on the swale in yorkshire and a lot closer to home but theres not much left in there these days.

The guy that told me they are diawa blanks is also very credible.
He's not from some mickey mouse tackle shop nor is he from the famous red and black franchise.
Anyhow they felt very similar to my longbows.

Yes they are daiwa blanks and similar to the longbow in the length and TC I tested they felt closer to the infinity in power and more like a beefed up longbow in action but may be closer to the longbow in the lower TC models.

I have just brought three "new" DAIWA LONGBOW DF X45 CARP FISHING RODS 3lb test for £400.00 including postage... not bad.. they look and feel great... the new Kaizen rods must be undeliverable at there price tag..
