It's more for 2 France trips next year. My usual lake has purpose built weigh stations but I am going to 2 different lakes instead so thought I would get myself a tripod.

Rubble bag is a good tip. May get the avid one. Could be very handy in summer or on easier waters. It can be a chore if you are bagging up.

yes the Nash one I have that I bought years ago weighs a ton I bought it when it came out after seeing its launch and demo at a show weighing a 14 stone man
but its really total overkill unless your fishing for big Cats I did advertise it in classifieds but got no takers probably because its to big and heavy to post it would cost a bomb
my new Avid Lok Down tripod will weigh any carp your liable to catch

I fish for catfish, in addition to carp and others, when weighing the larger cats I have a pocket pulley that was originally purchased to lift deer, I keep it in the truck, I admit to not using it often[as I'd like to] but when you have no help and being an old but wise fella who knows how hard it is to lift a heavy weight up to the scales, it does make it easier, It's rated to 180kg, If I get anything bigger than that,, I'll phone a friend,, damn,, anything over 180 kg I'll phone them all!

I've just ordered the Avid Gerry. What sold me wad the rubble sack idea.
I have some decent Ruben's and don't like to leave them out at night or in the rain
So it can be a drama getting them from under the bed if I want to weigh a fish.
Having it all ready to go with a sack over it sound ideal

Nice. It was a last-minute thing for me as the wife really wanted

Once you've used a tripod you won't go back. More accurate and safer for the fish especially if your weighing chunks 👍

glad you like it the cam locks are the nuts arnt they ? so good I changed my Storm poles and bank sticks over to the Avid ones too
