No unfortunately if you grease it, it may well slip or cease to work properly . It most likely needs a clean which will involve taking the rotor off. There should be a little top cover holding the pinion gear, bearing and antireverse bearing in place. Undo and remove these parts noting the order they came out. The antireverse bearing will have a series of slots and possibly an outer shroud to keep the pins in place.the proper way to do this is to remove all the pins and clean individually but a quicker method but not as thorough as by using a wet wipe, rotate it around the inside of the bearing , you will see the dirt on the wipe, repeat until there's no dirt then using a soft cloth or kitchen towel, dry well don't forget to clean the collar that sits inside this too and reassemble.

Mine squeak under load from new, I just put it down to daiwa "character"
I don't like them, but since I hate the rods they're mounted on they haven't been used much

Mine have also squeaked from new but only just able to hear it and never got worse and I like them for close in work on lite tc rods as they are nicely balanced, have a progressive drag and do all I need and we're cheap when I bought them , they have I think been discontinued so hope they last a lot longer

They're just a bit quick for my taste, most of my fishing is with a centrepin so I get fed up with fixed spools when you have to pump the rod to get three strands of weed moving. I got them for some cheap 10ft rods to use on a park lake after a labrador barely cleared my Harrisons while chasing a ball, but ended up catching all but one of the fish I wanted with my pin rod
I don't think there is such a thing as a small reel with a slow retrieve (4-1 would be nice) or they may have been replaced.

I'm not overly surprised by all the comments regarding squeeking as The antireverse bearing is a pretty basic version with no metal shroud and the spring mechanism is little plastic v's set at the appropriate angle to push the pins into position on the collar , although adequate they are not the quickest reacting mechanism and any kind of grease or dirt ingress can make them sound quite ropey, they're not very well toleranced either so it may just be that they are not sitting against the collar particularly well.
