And you know they havent replaced them how?
And who said theyd need replacing anyway? Im sure they still work if they are cut into. And to think briad wont damage them over time is a little silly dont you think. Its abrasive, and gets hot when it moves across stuff fast, so why would it not cut in?
I use delkims by the way, but just cause i use them, dorsnt mean i cant see the weaknesses

I remember a mate of mine turning up for an over-nighter and stating “I've had my Delks serviced and just got them back, they had the “Y” shaped sensors changed on all three they were worn out, they do it as standard when you have them serviced” That was back in the 90's

The y sensors are guaranteed for life against wear. They wouldnt be doing that unless they knew that braid wouldn't damage them.

Sorry didn't mean for this to morph into a braid causing damage debate. Only mentioned it as a mate of mine told me about the problem having experienced it directly himself a few years ago. I have noticed some scoring on the vortex air guides on a couple of rods that I've used braid with so clearly it will bite into surfaces.
Personally I'd rather not take a risk and just use my Fox's for the braid situations only.

If you fish in angles those line cuts can happen. I've got the same on my Nash r3.
Once that happened I've mailed the Nash gang via their contact info on the site. No replies..

but you cant compare a rod ring ?
as there is a huge difference the line is under pressure against the ring............... and its nothing like a line running out on a bait runner with hardly any tension in comparison (unless your using a 4lb bobbin)

Very few people use Baitrunners these days Gerry, the vast majority set their clutches so line can be only just released without the Rod being dragged in – common sense really as there's then no need to strike as the clutch tension causes self-hooking, also a Reel's spool spinning out of control causes mass line twist.
Braid has a habit of picking up fine sand and grit partials when wet, truth be told it wreaks anything it rubs against with time.

Various materials used on rod rings now, some are deffinately better than others with braid. Delkim vebration sensor has a far smaller surface area than a single rod ring although the load is spread over all rings with the tip taking most bothe on the cast and retrieval.
